Title: Wiper linkage and pivots
Post by: Zephod on February 18, 2017, 06:59:29 AM
I bought a pivot. It's a bit longer than I need but it'll work. It's different from the Carpenter original but I can make it work. The problem is the connector on the end of the arm is a ball, not a pin. As I also need to buy a wiper motor, I'm not stuck with incompatible things.

Of the old pin system, the only remaining parts that are good are the wiper arm and blade and the wiper linkage (an 8 inch piece of flat steel with two brass bushes).

I have my pivot with a ball connection. I can get a wiper motor. The ball is what's causing me hassle right now. I can't seem online to locate anything that will connect to a ball. Worst case scenario, I just have to get to work with steel and a drill and make a connector. I'd prefer to get something ready made though, principally because I don't know how the connector should look.

Has anybody encountered ball linkage and ball arms for wiper motors and if so, where can I find them? Are they an obsolete technology even?
