Title: 102a3 RF air bag not fully inflating
Post by: N31569 on February 06, 2017, 04:09:28 PM
I recently replaced the RF air bag on my 102a3. The old one still held air but was cracked. I have ran it a couple times since then with no problem, but today when I started it to move it the RF only air up part way( the wheel well was just to the top of the tire). Is this a problem with the front leveling valve, if so how do I test it?

thanks, Jason

If you have moved your bus and parked it on uneven ground, that wheel will sit normally higher or lower depending on the ground. There are one leveling valve on each side on the rear axle, so the bus will sit even with the rear axle, and there is only one leveling valve on the front axle, so if the ground is higher under the RF wheel, the wheel will be higher under the body. The bus sits on a tripod: one valve at each end of the rear axle, and one in the center of the front axle. That could explain what you are seeing.

I did move it to make sure , because that is what I thought also. I had it on level pavement in my parking lot and it was still down.

Your problem must be with the rear right leveling valve. Try pushing it up or down with a stick to see if it will level the bus. The rear is what levels the bus side to side.

I got under the bus today and first noticed that the right rear air valve is leaking air. I also did try adjusting it but it really didn't do much, I moved it about 1/2 inch. I didn't move it after that. Should I move it between adjustments?
