I about (or thought I was) to hit the road. I'm in Mobile, Alabama.
Went to start the coach after turning on the coach battery switch. Engine (or starter) turn one time. Something like a dead battery. Trying a second time produced nothing. Jumped out to look at the battery and notice smoke from the battery compartment. Turned off the switch. Smoke stopped. Didn't have a chance to see what got hot or why.
Presently chargeing both coach batteries, for a second attempt.
Drove the coach last weekend 50 or so miles with no problems. After arriving home, clean the engine a little :'( with water.
Could I have a starter problem? I really should have been on the road two hours ago......

I may have found the problem.....
A bad cable..... Standy by
Bad terminal on the end of the + cable. A 10 minute walk to the auto parts store and the problem is fixed. Just one more thing to add to the long list of things to check.
Departing Mobile (at last) heading to Little Rock with a overnight stop somewhere along the road.
