What happened to MCIbustalk? Has the site been shut down?
I haven't been able to access it for about a week now. I was wondering the same thing.

Its been off for over a month. I think that it is dead.
I hate to know that MCI Bustalk has died. I was the founder and owner of that website back in 2011 and it seemed to have gotten off to a good start especially starting with nothing. My intention was not to take away from BCM but at the time, it seemed that all the others such as Eagles, GM, RTS, Prevost, etc, had their own little niche corner on the net so I figured there should be an active place for the MCI owners as well. My objective was to get tons of information and pictures of MCI specific conversions that were not lost and mixed up with all other manufacturers that sometimes makes it difficult to find when doing searches. It appeared to work great for awhile. Soon afterwards, I received a job promotion that required more of my time as well as trying to keep up with a small family farm and orchard and my other hobbies of RC Flying and Cycling so it became apparent that I did not have the amount of time to commit to MCI Bustalk to run it as needed to make it grow further. Back in the day, we had many contributors to the site that bent over backwards to help make the site a success. When it became apparent that I could no longer provide the time and effort needed, I went to Dave5cs first since he was one of the top contributors to MCI Bustalk. He as well, didn't have the time needed to put into the site. At that point, Tikvah stepped up to the plate and volunteered to keep the site moving forward so I turned sole ownership over to him in early 2012. I will admit that after I turned ownership over to him I basically went MIA from all the Bus Sites including BCM and MCI Bustalk for several years so I was not familiar with Tikvah turning it over to Paul Robie. My hope is that it will somehow be revived. There was a lot of good info over there.
Happy Bussin,
Jimmy
Jimmy, our Eagle board is dying a slow death also Jim tries his best and you can tell he frustrated talking to his self,Face/Book is where everyone hangs now
It shows that we don't need a brand specific board. BCM is the busiest bus board by far, followed by BusNutsOnline, then Facebook is picking up speed. But a bus is a bus, and you can get answers and info about any brand on these 2 bus boards. That is why they are busy. Even when MCI Bustalk was going, you'd get more info faster on BCM about MCI.
JC
I guess if all the bus forums migrate over to Facebook I'll be left behind. I refuse to sign up for Facebook.
hi Jimmy, you created a great site, Tikva (Dave) did great with it too, I hope it will continue, Yahoo's mci site died as well, here's wishing a good idea lasts, tom, lvmci...
Me , JC, Ed and Tom all felt like we were talking to our own dame selves over there. It just slowed way down.

Back when we first got our bus, (2003) there was a MCI 5 board on Yahoo. At the most it had about 90 members but was fairly active for its size. Only problem was nobody could get in touch with the one moderator/founder which was not a big deal until the other one died while fueling his bus in Idaho. After that point nobody new could join and and it slowly died. I used to check if for about 5 years but the last time i looked it had disappeared.
There's two very very important reasons to keep BCM alive even with Facebook (remember I'm a millennial talking here),
1. Facebook groups are not super organized for info sharing. They are not easily regulated in terms of what people post and when. So it's a bit of mayhem over there. Fun social sharing of the bus hobby with pics and posts, but not always super helpful. And a lot of arguing that again isn't regulated.
2. This forum is and will always be searchable. That is HUGE. You can't search a Facebook group for keywords or info. So yeah, Facebook is an awesome social sharing platform, but bulletin board forums are geared towards information sharing and collaboration. You can't replace that with Facebook. Not gonna happen.
