I have a new place in Camarillo, Ca. 1.1 acres with 85 Avocado trees. In the near future am removing about 30 of the trees to make room for my 70ft x 40ft RV garage (yes bigger than the house, but isn't that the way it's supposed to be?). Yesterday, started the bus after sitting since August. I need new starting batteries (2-31). I had to switch on the jumper relay to the 2-8D Lifeline to get the bus started. I started it since the weather was 72 and I needed to clean out some dirt that had accumulated under the bus. It always amazes me how fast that engine starts (8V-71 high compression). Two compression hits and it fired! Also ran the generator with all three A/C's running.
Today is only going to be in the high 60's. Good Luck, TomC
Hi Tom, yes it is amazing how quickly they startup. My first experience with diesel engines, was with a glow plug and in a LV winter day, it took awhile to start, lvmci...
Thanks for letting us know Tom. Bring your lot layout to Quartzsite next month so we can do a plot plan to see how many buses we can get on your lot for your rally and to see how many power poles you will need to plan for. ;)
If you go with a Pre fab metal building 40x70 is a weird size you can probably save money by going with a 40x80 or even more with a 40x60.There is a lot of waste you pay for on a 40x70
And tom if those Avocados are producing and mature they could pay for that building over and over again. Just sayin ;D
Dave
Last July we picked 4,000lbs of avocados.
At $2 each here on the east coast you should have no problem building that building.
