Although some may feel that it was just thrown together, I would note that the patina, particularly on the steel, took years to achieve.
Looks like a class act to me, should work out just fine. I mean really, "Who looks at a steering column with envy and/or lust these days?

Heck, you have more than I do.
I have a Ross power system...must be underneath because the only thing I have from the floor up is a small round shaft and 1/2 of a universal joint.
Oh, and a really cool racing wheel.
