Title: Looking for mc5/7/8 sliding windows
Post by: PorchPeople on November 30, 2016, 11:51:23 AM
I have frames and glazing but need some glass. Anyone have leftovers from previous conversions? Also inner/ outer perimeter seals. Hoping to get the ol greyhound sunshade if possible...but beggars can't be choosers.

Try calling John Zahn at 714 703 8200.  He has some brand new Peninsula windows left over from another job that he will give you a great price on.

Thanks Gary, looking for the old stuff. The 7/32  solex is available but I'm hoping to find something with the correct era tint.

NAME?? -

MC-8 window glass will not fit your 5a, only MC-7 stuff.

Have you tried Luke at US Coach? 1-888-262-2434 Monday thru Thursday, Eastern.

Another source would be Sam Caylor in Rantoul, KS. 1-785-878-3405. Sam specializes in scrapping MCIs - but don't try to negotiate prices, he'll hang up on you.

FWIW & HTH...

;)

And that is a fact! I also know of someone that was trying to buy a hard to find window from him once and tried to negotiate the price and Sam told him hang on a second, then he heard a huge crash. Then Sam got back on the phone and told him "Sorry can't help ya, last one I had just got broke!" And hung up!

Sam's a good guy and has lots of parts, but he feels he gives a fair price on everything he sells compared to "new" prices for the same part and nothing makes him madder than for someone to try an "jew" him down!

Some of the 8 glass fits...I have three in my bus right now.
Downside is the frames are anodized black. I'll give Sam a try. Thank you all for the responses.

I have purchased from Sam he is ok, stays busy. He has some parts there and though he doesn't need to sell anything he does. There's no giveaways there and as mentioned slim pickins on any negotiating. He ships everywhere as everybody else so look around, google is your freind.

have a good day

Can't help you with the windows, but if you need 2 radiators, a surge tank, or a set of jake brakes with tall valve covers i have them. :)

   Hi Ed;
       Do you know if MC-5 & MC-7 radiators are the same?  ???

   Hi;
     I have some sliding glass from my MC-7.  Wanting to put a
     slider on the L/H side.  They have been sitting in the weeds
     for a few years.   I will have to see what I have.   You might
     also check with Coach Services in Williams.   I see in your
     profile that you are in Woodland,  Williams is not too far
     north for you.
     Will check back if I have extra glass.
                                         Good luck,     Merle.

Thanks ED. I've got the mechanicals pretty much squared away. Merle I've already raided Ted's stash of MCI glass. I'm looking for the outer forward slider off a 7. It has two radiuses on it. Also the rear inner slider (only one radius).
Thank you!
Michael

Couldn't say for sure Merle, but they measure  25" tall by 20&1/2" wide by 6" deep.  Wouldn't surprise me if they were the same, seems like every time i saw a 7 the radiator grill opening looked about the same as the 5. Anybody know for sure? Are they the same numbers in the parts book?  Ed
