I took a trip to Delaware yesterday and had the pleasure watch my bus being reskinned by Ross and Bruce.
Top notch worksmanship, friendly, accomodating and I personally vouch for their work ethics.
For bus nuts who missed my previous "getting rid of the rivets thread", this is round # two.
We've finally decided that "concealing" all the rivets for the smoothside look is very much doable and safe.
I know quite a few folks here would rather keep their SS sides to maintain the original bus look
but here are my own "personal reasons":
a) material cost of flat aluminum is way much cheaper than my less than perfect SS skins
b) the renewed younger looking age of my 25 year old bus with smooth sides.
c) one piece fiberglass skin from the roofline to the top of the bay doors, front to back.
d) the look of sticks and staples with the durability of a commercial bus.
Here's a few pics.
Including a lawn-mower powered mini-MCI9 with a "tag-axle" in the making.
