A fella on "The RV Forum" board under "general discussion "has just bought a 1980 GMC Inter City RTS bus and knows NOTHING about it,,needs help,,.He has included pictures of the coach, it has a slide and lower bay doors,,looks sharp.>>>Dan
I am really wondering how many of the 118 folks that have looked at this post have went to the effort to peek at this bus conversion,, this guy has no clue what he has or where to start.. I think this would be an opportunity to add another BUS NUT to the group,,,all he needs is a little help and isn't that one of the reasons to be here??>>>Dan

You did something wrong,, click on the RV forum community,,all are welcomed.>>>D
I am having no luck ??? ??? ???
Pass the RTS Yahoo Group address to the RV group:
https://beta.groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/RTS-bus-nuts/info
There is so much information under the search button that just about anything you want to know about RTS bus conversions will be found.

Geoff, did they make a 42ft RTS ?
Pretty good, Cliff! That is one question that will not be in the archives, since there were no 42' RTS's made by any company that owned the factory assembly line.
The RTS 40' is measured from the front bumper to the back bumper. Maybe someone made a T drive and extended the back two feet, but I doubt it. However, GM did make experimental buses and one of them was a T drive setup, but I don't think it was sold to anyone.

Thats my very point,, this guy needs help to get it on the road.. And it is a great looking bus from what I've seen..I'll pass on the link,,thanks.>>>Dan
Figured we'd been teased enough, so here are the pics:

(And I do like RTS's - the design engineering is hugely impressive, and there's a definitely something a bit Gerry Anderson about the styling too...)

That's a really neat camping set up! Nice looking bus too!
Is that his house or his camp?
That is a nice bus I seen it before at a BCM rally but forgot which
Yes, I recall an RTS at one of the Mak rallies with that identical slide out but not painted. There has also been a few with a second story.

Wow! That is a beautiful bus. I wonder what the turning circle is? Bet it is good with a high swing front wheel arc?
My first of many questions is what engine does it have? Transmission? Top road speed? Doable cruising road speed?
Brake size and type? Road handling characteristics? A Bus Conversion doable project? Again, a very pretty coach.
Here's the link. But I will say this, it's much more efficient and to me it makes much more sense to get him over here to our forum rather than a bunch of us having to set up user id's and passwords and register for a forum that really has little use to us as bus owners. Dan you should see if you can get him to join the BCM forum and post here and ask questions. I've spent some serious time on various rv forums and though there is a little crossover, most
of them have no clue about buses. A good number of them have no clue about RV's. 🙄
Nevertheless, here's the link to his post: http://www.rvforum.net/SMF_forum/index.php/topic,99670.0.html

I have made the suggestion and the invitation .>>>Dan ( He has posted a bunch of pics of the interior on the other site) >>>Dan
I saw one RTS that had an extra 5ft section added to it to make a 45ft'r. Long wheelbase-long turning.
And I also know of someone that took one section of a 35'er to make a 30'RTS.
