Man-man, that is tacky.
Anyone who would even consider "Wheel Chair Racing" as a side-line to a bus meet or any other public gathering, is just plain sick or at best, a low life.
Why don't you change it to free Prostrate Exams behind the bus instead, or vigorous-hands-on hamster wrangling ... no one in their right mind wants to race wheel chairs.
If this is considered entertainment for adults, then it is pretty lame.

Thats good because I am in my left mine or did I leave my mind, Anyway

Hey Tom, please do not include me in any event that is disrespectful to handicapped people, head-start or not, I will not participate. As a matter of personal preference, I find it unsavory and not worthy of my attention. Our old Hoopie seems to be having starter issues, have not located the exact cause, but if it requires a new one, well, from what I have been able to ascertain, that would be close to $500 and would put a dent in things around here.
It could be a rocker switch on the panel or a loose wire. I dunno. Until I determine the "
exact cause" of my problems, I am a charter member of the foot-patrol.
We don't know if we can make it or not, it is a long jag out there, and the price of the fuel alone for the round-trip would be close to a thousand dollars. I would love to see Dan the Man, Red Ryder, maybe some of those crazy west-coasters. School-bus Jack and all of them, but I am not sure we can swing it.
We have been kicking around the idea of the NASCAR races and car hauler parade later on this spring on our way to Seattle, might look you and Van up then. Will let you know, should know something in a couple of weeks*.

*The next one is for you Gunner ...
A crusty old biker out on a long summer ride in the country pulls up to a tavern in the middle of nowhere, parks his bike and walks inside.
As he passes through the swinging doors, he sees a sign hanging over the bar:
COLD BEER : $2.00
HAMBURGER : $2.25
CHEESEBURGER : $2.50
CHICKEN SANDWICH : $3.50
MASSAGE WITH HAPPY ENDING : $50.00
Checking his wallet to be sure he has the necessary payment, the ole' biker walks up to the bar and beckons to the exceptionally attractive female bartender who is serving drinks to a couple of sun-wrinkled farmers.
She glides down behind the bar to the ole biker.
"Yes?" she inquires with a wide, knowing smile, "may I help you?"
The ole biker leans over the bar, "I was wondering young lady," he whispers, "are you the one who gives the massages?"
She looks into his eyes with that wide smile and purrs, "Why yes, yes, I sure am."
The ole' biker leans closer and into her left ear whispers softly, "Well, wash your hands real good, cause I want a cheeseburger."
Have a good weekend.

funny Don, no disrespect meant, we'll change it to skateboards! can't wait to see Clifford and Gary compete on those! we'll construct a run-a-way skate board ramp on the side of Vans bus, to reduce the downhill speed, hope you resolve the starter issue, would be great to have you join the festivities...
Janet and I will be there in the Greydog and have reservations but not for Sunday night looking forward to the ralley

So you have to lie face down to get the exam? In that case shouldn't they be under the bus, not behind it? I suppose you could get one while doing the other.
John
Good idea on washing the hands after where they have been. Now that's funny. I don't care who you are. :D
We are looking forward to see all of you there. There is a couple of more weekends to go before the event so lets get them coaches in good working order. Gary H. spend more time stocking up on Loc-tite this time instead of film ok so we don't have to chase ya down the road with all the stuff that fell off :D ;D
See ya there and have a safe trip
4000 comedians out of work and Van is trying to be funny. ;D
For all of you that are planning on attending this event, plz choose the Interested tab on this event and change it to Going so Van will know how many Lobsters to bring for the Lobster Bake.

Hi All, some bad news about that Dam Rally. I know that I notified you all in previous threads that the weather at Lake Mead would be very pleasant, sorry to say, just saw the weather forecast on the news, first let me say, I do have some portable radiator heaters at my kids and my house and will be happy to provide 3 or four if I can fix one, I'm pretty sure I can cut up an extension cord to fix the fourth one, and I do have a couple of down comforters, for the nights, to lend, but the bad news is the lows will be in the low 60s and highs only in the high 70s, so sorry about my woefully incorrect weather prediction, please don't cancel your reservations because of the miserable weather, I will do my best to keep you warm, and don't blame Van, he had nothing to do with it, lvmci...
That is to bad about the weather I was hoping for weather than here in Cornville, AZ lows have been in the 50s and highs in the 80s. Hard to ride our trike this time of year when we don't have to put on our cold weather gear, o well I recon we will just have to live with it.
See you Thursday when the Greydog will pull in.
ED & Janet
Does anyone have a bunch of old bus tires they can bring so we can have an old fashion tire campfire? It is fun to watch all of the colors of flames in tire fires. It is so beautiful, they probably outlawed this by now. >:(
We could bring some old Smudge pots Gary from the ranch and at least you would still have the burning rubber and tar smell.
See ya on Thursday too Pathfinder will be pulling in... We leave Tuesday at about 9am
Dave5Cs
PS we will be packing our shorts for that weather. Its 45 to 70 here these days....... ;D
Cedar City has been mid 30s at night with high 50s to mid 60s day,,,,will bring some along..>>>Dan
thanks Dan, I know Cheryl, Vans better half is itching to wear the new mink stole Van bought her recently, it's just terrible the weather we have, keeps her from wearing it...
Regrettably, we will not be there. Too busy here to get away. Still combining the grain crop, very late. And still looking for wheel studs, although I have run out of options now, will likely get a pair of steel wheels for now. I could've brought some used motor oil to fuel the tire fire, lol. Hopefully see you all at Quartzsite.
JC
Well we just might be able to make it this time. Am I correct in thinking that there is dry camping next to or close by the park? I have 4 boys in ages from 2 to 8 would that be okay? I keep a pretty tight reign on them but I know there are going to be a lot of cranky old codgers there. Where can I find info on the dates and goings on and where to park?

Good dry camping at the park next door it's nicer that the RV park with shade trees tables and it is paved the rally is 11-13 lol we have a little pre rally here at the house it looks like

That was Mink? He told me he ran over a dog recently but never said anything about running over a Mink. Oh well, maybe she won't notice. :-)
Cliff where is your house Janet and I are coming through Kingman Wednesday afternoon.

Merle.
Ed,I am closer to Bullhead about 8 miles north of Needles on 95 little out of your way but you guys are welcome to stop and spend the night and see my puppy lol
hi Derrick, lake mead RV village, is just a few blocks past the entrance into lake mead national park, from Boulder City, coming from the Dam, you'll go past the Hoover Dam Lodge a high rise hotel, then you'll see the entrance to the park, on the right. from Needles and US93 turn right towards Boulder City on US95, thru Boulder City, just past town, about 1 1/2 mile you'll see the entrance to the lake and then the RV park and campground. tom, lvmci...
hi All, working hard to get the Italian greyhound ready for that dam rally, had asked to be notified by a tire dealer here in LV, when they got some 12R22.5 used tires in, turns out there is a very clean set of 4 off a police special vehicle, Michelin tires, and a set of 3 of a bus, also Michelin available, approximately $175 to $200 each, if your interested please contact me, tom, lvmci...
hi All, 20 busnuts, enjoying bus comradery, adult beverages, homemade dinners and all being regaled with horsepower and engine milage stories, lvmci...
