hi, once you have a sign like that, for your own peace of mind, if not for the mechanical reason, you should change it, lvmci...

My guess is the seal is less than perfect.

I would replace the seal before going any distance. The last seal I bought was less than $20 & wasn't too bad to replace.

It would make for a more expensive repair later if you lost the coolant & overheated the engine . . . .

It's best to repair the repair the pump seal but they only leak when stopped you will probably be fine till you get home just watch the coolant level

Thanx for the advice everyone . I think we are gonna try in the morn and drive home . I will closely monitor temp and level . We do have 125 gal of water on board . There isn't any good places for parts here . If I think it is getting worse on way home maybe try for choo choo in tenn . Or any one else have suggestion where to go heading northeAst from kerrvill me Texas ? I can almost hear any direction from here north east .

Oh I forgot .the coach has been sitting for year . Do you think maybe once I drove it and warmed it up that it caused it to stop?

Clifford what do you mean they only leak when stopped ? When I'm moving and motor is under pressure it won't leak ? When at idle it was coming out of weep hole . I took it for ride and came back when it was up to temp it barely dribbled .

If the pump its bad it will leek more when the system has pressure than when it is cold.

They usually drip when the engine is shut down and cooler,I have friend his has been dripping for years and stops after he runs it ,they are such a low pressure system it has little affect on the leaking

Not what my 8v71 and 8v92 water pumps did.  They would leek out all the water when running down the road.  I have never seen a water pump with a bad seal that would not leak when you are running.  I have seen cold water leak, but they leaked into the oil pan not out the weep hole.  If the seal is bad they won't quit leaking when you are running.

I am working on a 8v71T now it only drips when stopped, the only way water can get to the oil from a water pump is if the oil seal is bad too then the pump comes off for a rebuild.
