Title: LED Clearance Lights
Post by: Bryan on August 17, 2016, 09:16:31 PM
Hey guys, I have found LED markers/blinkers for my Prevost, but I can't seem to find the LED Clearance Light Replacements. Any suggestions?

I tried to find 24v clearance lights too but finally gave up and I didn't want to try to modify the circuit for 12v so I just went with regular bulb type. The led are nice but too expensive when replacing 10, 5 in front 5 in back. Where did you get the led side markers and turn signal led lights ? My Prevost still has the 7" round back lights but at $75 to $90 each I will just change bulbs. The bulbs rarely go out anyways and if the led fail you just through them out and buy new if out of warranty. The led headlights are really nice too but changing out 4 you need a big check book to pay for them. Thank you.

Don't know where to buy them but  a year or so ago my 1991 XL,  had several cracked covers and Prevost had a few old covers and said they were installing LED's instead. Had them put all front and back (7 front and 5 back I think) and labor with lights a $300 charge to ticket on a Level 3 Service.. They had to trim fiberglass in top to mount new lights. Very bright. The best part I didn't have to climb my old azz up on a ladder to do it. Call Prevost cause sometimes they are cheaper to buy parts from then aftermarket.

Here are the 24 volt Led's I bought. They are likely smaller than the ones you need but we are patching the factory cut out with a small piece of sheet metal from behind and then either fiberglassing to the metal or applying Bondo on the outside to get a nice smooth finish to mount these. They require much smaller overall hole so it should be better in the long run... hopefully less room for water to sneak in. They are also sealed and put out a decent amount of light; I only hooked them up to a 12 volt power supply at work but I was very happy with the result. The people at e-trailer seem to be a friendly bunch as well.

One more thing; theyhave a few other 24 volt options on e-trailer you may want to check out too. Those were just the ones I decided on.

Anyhow, hope it helps. Cheers, -Bjorn
