Title: Series 50 turbo feed line
Post by: jmblake on August 17, 2016, 04:43:27 PM
On my series 50 the turbo feed line is leaking where it looks like it is crimped together in 2 places with a clamp in between. It is making a mess and actually leaks more than what one would think. Is there any way to reseal the crimp ??? or should I just pay detroit $93.00 for a new one. You can actually see a drip forming one the end of the crimp. Jason

Just braze both sides and clamp it back

Turbo feed line broke on my Series 60.  BK fixed it with brake line and two compression couplers.  Still going strong.

Thanks guys, Since I'm not a metal guy, if it was wood I could fix it ;D I just ordered a new one. I figured till I take the time of work to find someone that could fix it that it would be cheaper to just order the new one and have it shipped to my door. Thanks Jason

Go to your nearest hydraulic hose/fitting supply house. They should be able to fix you up with high pressure flareless unions (is that line about 3/8" diameter?) Those unions are rated for thousands of pounds of pressure so they should work real well for you. This is an example (U.K.) but the ones here are pretty much the same.
