Title: Good Road Trip
Post by: Melbo on August 06, 2016, 04:55:49 PM
We just returned from a 2500 mile +/- road trip.  We used a half gallon of oil and burned somewhere around 500 gallons of diesel. We were dry camping part of the time and ran the generator 24-7 for about 5 or 6 days. We didn't have any issues with the bus other than an odd noise at the left front wheel and I remembered someone else had the chrome wheel covers and had a similar noise so I stopped at big rig shop in Galesburg Illinois and had the wheel torqued and the noise went away.  The only other problem we had was one night we stayed in a campground on the banks of the Mississippi River and the KingDome could not get a signal through the trees so we didn't have satellite television that night. Every time some one has issues it gets posted looking for help or solutions so I thought I would post about an uneventful run that we had.

You had three events, you only used two quarts of oil (making all 2 cycle owners envious), the noise went away easily, and King Dome let you down for one night. That's a pretty exciting trip.  ;D

Glad it all went well, with only a minor issue or 2.  2500 miles is a good run!

All the best.

Yes Clifford I do.  ;D I have pressure washing the engine on my list because I'm sure about half that oil is on the engine but hard to see where it is coming from. You were probably kidding BUT I think you are mostly right.

I wasn't kidding Mel the L-10 leak a little usually from under the head, they don't burn oil maybe 1/2 gal in 10,000 miles
