Title: Gm 4104 air bags Please help
Post by: harleyman_1000 on August 06, 2016, 11:51:37 AM
Ok I went out to work on the bus to get it ready for inspection Monday. Got everything ready, but when I tried to air up the air bags only the passenger side aired up? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have a Gm 4104 It aired up fine yesterday. I know it has a leak somewhere up front and only holds air for a half day if that. Is there a valve somewhere that lets air to the drivers side?

The driver's side levellling valve might be bad. That will be a the rear.

Probably the driver's side rear valve's link broke or became disconnected or valve is bad or air leak at line or air bag.You may not be able to hear leak with engine running. An air compressor connected to your air system and placed far enough away with air hose to be able to hear any larger leaks. You can place a tap into air system below driver in compartment. Don't climb under coach without blocking. A sudden air bag failure while you are under there Will most likely kill you.

Yes I am airing it up with a air compressor from the rear, and don't hear any leaks. Where is the air leveler located at and what does it look like? Do they ever just stick? I know when I bought the bus the front valve was leaking and when tapped on it stopped.

Not sure why, but it is leveling out now? What is needed to put separate valves on each air ag so I can level the bus on uneven ground?

An air supply from the accessories tank up front to a 4 way valve and the other 3 lines each go to the corner bags or 2 grouped together. Your 4 way valve will have an in for supply to each one and an out to each group of two bags link together with a Tee. You can use the lines that go to your leveling valves to start with.
Some also leave the leveling valves with a shut off in the lines so when they are driving they can turn the leveling valves on to level as they drive and then turn those off and just use the 4 way valves at the campsites to level by adding or taking out air from each corner. And before it starts it does not tweak your coach enough to creat a problem. ;D
