Title: Prevost Parts
Post by: luvrbus on July 27, 2016, 09:48:38 AM
Dan Keeton is parting out 2 1995 XL's in the Nashville area for people needing parts just passing it on he is on Dale Houston's XL owners page on facebook. It's a shame a 1995 XL is not worth the cost of rebuilding a series 60 engine and gets parted out. Both buses have bad series 60 engines fwiw every thing else is supposed to be good

Cliffords are the blocks cracked or broken cranks or is it just the cost itself of rebuilding as a whole?

They are 11.1 L I am sure the counter bores are bad,the cranks don't go bad unless you run one dry.I just priced out a rebuild on a 12.7 using all DD parts over 18 grand in parts alone to do it right

Are there signs or symptoms that make you suspect that might be the case?

Watch for a change in the antifreeze color I am going to change my designer color (pink)antifreeze and keep a eye on it, right now it has a gray tint that worries me

Is the grey tint from oil infiltration or combustion gases? Mine has green stuff in it. i need to test it and make sure all is copasetic.

You need to get the green stuff out of you series 60 and go with DD Power Cool or a equal
