I am looking at picking up a bus to do a conversion over the winter. I am about 3 hours from Vancouver so I am curious if anyone has a trusted/respected mechanic in Vancouver that I could pay to go do a thorough inspection on the bus before I drive down there to get it driven back etc.
Is there not a Provincial inspection requirement relative to roadworthy. I would tax the seller to have that as a minimum before I sent a neutral look see'er ;D
beyond that..i have no help :)
Yeah they do but it is pretty basic and largely depends on the shop doing it. More hoping for a complete look through, opinion of an expert etc.
Kinda like this link below, down here south we have the same. I had to do these for awhile, because I was 15 years younger than the others, ( rank has it privileges ) also other assigned duties training and tested personnel on some of these finer points for three years but its pretty basic, that included a road trip to. maybe
It really needs a proper place to do it, an actually in real life these places are regulated and have requirements that have to be kept strictly by the book! so usually a shop.

I would just make a list of some things you think you want looked at, and go from there.
These coach buses are a world in their own so someone keen it that respect is pretty dam important. I'm not there
good day

oh... i was thinking that a government facility did them up there .
What type of bus? I have bought a few from Pacific Coach Lines (they are in Burnaby)over the years. They used to do work, etc for other coach companies..(depends how buisy they are) What area is the coach in?
89 MCI with a 6V92TA and Fuller T11605 in Richmond.
Maybe try Charter bus lines of BC. They are on River Rd in Delta, so fairly close.
Cullen diesel in Surrey would have a service truck but not sure what they would charge.
Probably a better chance of finding a good 2 stroke guy at Cullen.
