Title: Getting voltage spikes
Post by: thomasinnv on July 17, 2016, 07:11:07 AM
Any time the engine rpms go really high, for example downshifting coming down off a grade, the voltage jumps up to 32. Once the rpms drop it goes back to normal. Voltage is fine running down the road and going through the gears normally. Seems to be limited to higher rpm only. I'm thinking bad ground or failing regulator? Am I on the right track here?

What haven't you found? The relay or the regulator? The regulator should be in the rear baggage bay rear bulkhead wall driver side. The relay I didn't know about but my guess would be rear junction box.

I am looking for the relay I don't have a problem yet but I want to keep a spare.I know where the regulator is because I replaced it with Ample SAR-V3 last year ? do you have the big black or the small grey regulator

About a 4x4x1 inch that is what I removed if you need a regulator I'll dig it out for you if I can remember where I put it so not to get lost :D
