QuoteAnybody have insight on why I'm burning thru MAP sensors on a 1988 LeMirage 8v92 DDEC/ATEC?
Not yet!
Is there a Detroit part number in consistent use here, and possibly some information to share from a pro-link or like kind reading. Some of this would help me a bit at this time.

All he has is a NAPA 2-16865 number.
Ok I will keep an eye out for some tips, fwiw I would have trusted the napa as having been a customer there for many many years.
May have to run some kind of diagnostic checks in some form or another, I would have to look to one of the std Detroit diagnostic charts.
I know there are a billion ways to do this but the companys made these for good intentions (paying a tech) for one. I sound like a broken record, sorry
The group on here will tackle it shortly!
good day

I'd try a different source. I've had good luck with NAPA over the years, but once in a while I get something that doesn't hold up. Remember that they just get theirs from various vendors and stamp their name on it. With all the online competition they face, I'm sure the quality isn't like it used to be.
OK first off it ain't supposed to be a MAP sensor but rather a BOOST sensor!
I had one go bad an replaced it with a MAP sensor from a regular parts house once and it didn't help.
So I called "The Don" Fairchild an he gave me the straight scoop on what it was an how it worked. Gave me a DETROIT part # an I called our DD dealer down in Memphis and yes the had ONE in stock! Told me come get it today an we'll make you a smok'n hot deal as it's been our shelf forever and we don't ever remember selling another one!
I put it on and never had another problem with it!
I don't have the part # anymore, but I bet Clifford or "The Don can get it for you!
;D BK ;D
Message relayed to the owner. I'll try and get hold of Don.
