Title: Series 50 Belt part number needed
Post by: steve.barnett71 on June 22, 2016, 07:58:29 AM
Anybody have a part number for the serpentine belt on a Detroit Series 50?  I have the automatic tensioner on mine, I believe the manual and automatic tensioners take different belts.

You need to match the belt they use 5 or 6 different belts depending on the drives

Jack, I have one here that has 2 idler pulleys with a belt driven power steering pump and Detroit show the setup with a bottom mounted 50 D alternator so I know they have more than 2 belts

Send picture, Detroit master parts book doesn't show anything like that.

Look in the IH parts and I also believe you will find in the Freight Liner and I don't know what his engine came from but I do know DD sell the belts. If you say only 2 belts that is fine with me

Tri state will need number of ribs and length. If you can get old number off belt. Sorry I didn't read that you didn't have it. Better bet with out old belt off is Clarke diesel in Henderson KY. They can do your ECM cruise in house also. They are a large multi location Detroit shop.  My 60 series has just AC (drivers) and alternator on drive belt.

72 in 12 rib is what the book says.  They come off easy, take your's off and check for size.
