I hope you carry a spare.  My Dina has dual fan belts and I have spares for both.  I replaced them when I got the bus and got a spare set too.

I marvel at how long those belts last on a MCI flopping around,no telling how long 1 would last with a idler pulley taking up all the slack

I bought one for our 5A when i first got it because i had no idea how old the belt was.....ran it for 12 years and it still looked the same as when i bought the bus. New owner now has a never used 12 year old spare belt.  ;D

Previous owner of mine had one break so he had 2 spares hanging in a cargo bay.  Anybody carry a spare serpentine belt also?

I carry a spare and did indeed have one for the roadside repair. Took a little longer than usual because I removed the air cylinder and am just using a turnbuckle. Anyway, simple fix and have driven 300 trouble free miles since then.

I carry a spare set of all my belts. I use the spares to change the belts every 3 or 4 years and buy another set of spares. I drive too much with my family to be without a set and they are cheap insurance.
