Title: Silverleaf owners
Post by: Scott & Heather on June 16, 2016, 10:43:42 AM
I'm assuming silverleaf is compatible with DDEC II. If so, I would like to run it on my laptop. I know the software is free, but do they have a compatible cable for my rectangular plug under my drivers seat?

There are some problems with the earlier ecm11.  You will more than likely be ok with yours.  I think the problem was with speed, but I know silver leaf will be able to tell you.  They do have your plug, that is the same as mine.
The picture is with a 7in screen, now I have a 10 in like it better.

I'm running a Silverleaf VMS 440 on my DDEC II 6L71TA.  Make sure your ECM has revision 154 (the last one for DDEC II) and you will be good to go.  This includes VSS issues related to prior DDEC II revisions.   Silverleaf will be more than happy to help if you call.  I also installed the TPS module which gives all the fuel parameters, ie quantity, distance to empty, etc. And also the road temp sensor.  Very, very happy with how all this performs in my Silverside. I'm retreiving much more engine info that I thought was available on DDEC II.

Dumb question, How do you know if you got a DDEC II or III ???  I have looked on the the ECM and didn't see anything that says one way or another. Mine is a 94 model.

94 should be DDEC 3.  Do you have plugs at both ends?

Not sure, Everything I had to unplug was on the top end.

Mines a 92 so I'm assuming I'm DDEC II. Jason are you going to sell your old power plant?

Jason the DDEC III can be hooked directly to the 24 v system is a easy way to tell and it's thinner that a DDEC II

I can feel wires going into the bottom of the ECM just cant see them there is a long thin thing that the fuel lines hook to that is mounted to the ECM not sure what it is?
Cliff, it was hooked up to 12v so thats what I kept it at not sure if that helps also it is pretty thin around 1.5" thick
Scott, Just going to part it out and probably scrap the rest unless some one wants a project lol  I got 8 reliabilt dd injectors 7C75 with about 5 mile on them I would like to get rid of and a bunch of other stuff related to the project.

The thin thing is the fuel cooler to cool the ECM. Take care you don't break the plastic harness plugs on the ECM they are usually brittle.

Jason, I can see wires going to the left side of the ECM but can't see any on the right side.  If there are no wires on the right side it will be a DD2

Just took another picture of my Silverleaf screen with the larger 9in monitor.  The first picture was with a 7 in monitor.  Something else the silverleaf dose for you is to keep your records.  Every time you reset one of the odo's it records it.  You can also add info such a the hours on the gen.

Mine is tied to TPMS Pressure/Pro that is neat just to have just 1 monitor,I do like the feature of the Pro/Driver with card slots where you take it out and read it from you computer

I have used the Pro Driver and The Cat system.  Sure would not want to drive with those only.  I am not a salesman for Silverleaf but should be.  It is the most system that you can get for the money you spend.  Jim Shepherd showed the system and was selling the units at a Eagle rally in Branson.  At the time I didn't have an electronic engine.  When I put the series 50 in my Eagle that was one of the first things that I bought.

Wow Clifford, you sure spent the kids' inheritance on that one!  I lusted after the glass dash but in the end went for the 440 which I like a lot.  Fine piece of equipment, the Silverleafs.
