I have a 1982 MC9 that has been repowered with a Series 50 Detroit and an Allison 6 speed. According to the previous owner the cruise control has been turned off in the ECM. Anybody in the southern Indiana area have the software to turn it back on?
Anybody with a Pro/Link and the DD software can turn it on
A more interesting question would be why was it turned off in the first place.
Previous owner said that he didn't like fuel mileage with cruise on. He had it disabled so he wouldn't be tempted to use it... We will see
ah cruise control .... can't drive with out it

In some instances, if you're a really good driver, you can get better fuel mileage than with cruise control. Mainly on rolling terrain. Cruise control will mash the motor when hitting an uphill to keep up speed and keep the motor mashed when at the top of the hill accelerating even down hill till the speed is up again. Whereas if you're on the gas pedal, when hitting that hill you leave the pedal in the same position allowing the bus to slow down till you hit the top of the hill and when you crest the top, take your foot off the accelerator allowing the bus to accelerate back up to speed with just gravity, you could get better fuel mileage. But-it's alot of work and can get other motorists (especially truckers) pissed off at you by slowing down so much on the hill. I use my cruise control all the time, except on major hills. Good Luck, TomC
