It doesn't look like a hoax exactly but it's a badly distorted description of HUD's planned rule. HUD certifies some buildings as being classified for HUD grants etc. That makes sense, I wouldn't want the gummint giving away my tax money to someone who is throwing up a cardboard tent, asking for government money, and then selling it to someone as a HUD approved house.
But that doesn't mean that HUD has any authority to tell a person what they can or can't live in.
As usual it will be changed 900 times before and if it actually becomes law. Think about the tax dollars the government would lose and how many more homeless people who can't afford a home or dwelling to buy or rent would be on the streets costing them even more tax dollars. RV industry as well as FMCA's lobbies won't let it happen because of all the money they would lose as well as RV park owners. Prevost would be in that group also. Just sayin ;D

Good morning all,
A quick check and as suspected there is a nice writeup on Snopes - along with "FALSE". :)

Hope this helps, Phil
I think it best to avoid those fringe "news" sites....
I can confuse myself and misinterpret the world just fine, without their help?
happy coaching!

PS - Hey, Steve. Haven't seen you post in a while; hope you're OK and doing well.
Now you tell me Phil and I just sold my bus this morning after seeing this post! >:(
Hmmm, that still leaves you with one bus Gary. As you may still be in a huge hurry to sell, I can make you a real sweetheart deal on your remaining bus. Trust me! ;D

Thanks for the note, my friend! I have had a couple of years of setbacks combined with a lot of work, so the bus has been on hold for a while. Lord willing, I will be starting again soon!
Dr Steve,
I just got back from Guatemala last week, and was thinking about you as I rode on several different busses, and one tiny Toyota every day. I was honestly surprised to see two motorhomes(parked) between Cotepaque and Guatemala City on CA-2. Another surprise was two Harleys passing the bus on day one---riders outfitted in black leather!
