Title: Northeast gtg revisited
Post by: travelingfools on March 28, 2016, 09:03:30 AM
So after a few years of life, work and family getting in the way, I've vowed to get the NJT out further than the campground around the corner this summer.. I remember a gtg we had years ago.. 2010 maybe... Good times.. Anyone in the NY / Pa / Ct etc are have any interest ?

Yeah, my bad.  I took over the North East GTG and immediately took a new job and, well, you know how that goes.

I'll start looking into places again.  Coming to a consensus on a place is a bit on the tough side, but I'm shooting for central New England with the hopes that most people won't mind traveling 3-4 hours.

I'll start a new thread shortly, but if people shout out if they are interested and what they would want, as in: when, where, what, etc., it would be helpful.

Mid July through mid August is best for me.. I'm in western NY, so 4 hours puts me around the lower Adirondacks or between Syracuse and Albany. Adirondacks or Finger Lakes ? We are pretty flexible...

Anyone else have ideas on a general area or region or dates ?

Hey guys, I was the one that started the rally idea and then had some problems finding the time to devote to it and transferred it to One Lapper.  We would love to go and help.  We are in the process of moving to Maine but trying to sell the house in CT is...well difficult, to say the least, so it looks like we will be around a bit longer.  I was looking into the St. George lake area in NY and I have a list of campgrounds there if anyone wants it.  We are still working on getting tires for ours so it will be a few months before we are ready to go...

Correction on my last post, I meant the "Lake George" area of NY.  Not sure how I came up with St George!

Bruce had suggested the Lake George area.. Does that work for those interested ? If so, I'll be glad to call around and see what's avail. and throw some dates out. Any other general area ideas ?

I think that when you put New England, with New York and maybe New Jersey it will be a long ride for where ever it is held. Lake George is a beautiful area, how does the fall sound, September. A lot of Rv parks close around Columbus Day weekend so October may be too late. Check it out and see what you can come up with. Thank you.

Great if it comes to be, more the better. Maybe even some Pennsylvania folks too.

If dates work we would be interested too.  We just had the 5C on a maiden voyage to Fla from southcentral PA and would be looking to work some more bugs out.  September seems like it is after the summer rush and things don't seem so crowded.  Will be watching the thread.

Location sounds good---but for me, anything after mid-August is too late ---still have a kid in High School !
