We just finished repairing our truck and replacing our tow bar after a recent mishap. Now I just need a quick local source for 24 volt lights for brake lights on my toad. Driving on Friday so no time to order. I have magnets to mount them to so I'm not choosy just need something that I can buy locally in Palestine that is 24 volt? Does lowes sell 24 LED lights? I have red lenses I could put them behind to get me by.

Napa was able to get me everything I needed.
Thanks,
Jack
Napa has worked for us, but sometimes you need to tell them to look for 28v bulbs.
Nothing LED right?

Why not?
As a last resort, ask at a private aviation maintenance shop at an air field if there's one around. Many aircraft have 28 volt systems. HTH

Contact RV LED's that help support BCM. To make an 12 volt LED Light into a 24 VDC Led light is a resistor. Ask your supplier what size you need. This will vary according to current draw of the light you select.

If there's a local bus facility, they might have something they'd sell you. Not many things use 24V.
Check the trailer section in Lowes they have LED's that work from 11v to 32v
Thanks Cliff. Exactly what I was looking for. Tractor supply and northern tool have lights but nothing 24 volt except led flood lights which could work in a pinch. Thanks again all

Scott - I am sure you already purchased but you can wire two 12v lights in series and bang its 24v lights.
Here is an article for you. Its how buses wire 12v lights on a 24v system but the method is the same.
When you wire a load in series it drops voltage in half when you wire batteries in series it doubles the voltage.

Shanksy! Corsican! That's exactly what I did today. My local lowes doesn't sell the LED LIGHTS so I just bought two 12 volts and wired them in series. :) see you guys in a few weeks!!!

Scott -
If you'd have called John Vickers, he's got a bunch of 24v bulbs because his 4905 is also 24v.
Plus he's right there in Palestine, too!
FWIW & HTH. . .
::)
RJ, we will! We will call him. I've been super busy these past weeks...every single day I have an event I'm singing for and in between those, I had to repair my truck and replace my tow bar after our hitch ball nut came loose and our truck was hanging by the safety cables at 60 mph and subsequently rear ending our coach. I didn't really want bulbs because I wanted the brightness of LED. Got the system to work just as Sean had mentioned in series!

Just make sure you note what you have done or some time down the line you or the n.o. will be pulling their hair out trying to get that light to work, when it's pair failed.
Lee it's just my toad brake lights. :)

Scott,
Same problem. One day the lights don't work and your in a hurry. Can't be the lights as both wouldn't go out at once. Must be a ground or broken wire or dirty plug or bad connection where the PO added it to the bus wiring. I will post a question and make everyone crazy. :D
Lol. Well, when we move into our new bus, the toad lights are coming with us. I am going to swap them out for 24 volt versions though.
