Title: Parts....Parts....Parts!
Post by: PRZNBUS on March 01, 2016, 11:57:15 AM
I just happened to be driving by my local steel scrap yard today and they had a 1980 MCI MC9 sitting on the edge of the yard. I inquired about it and they said they would not sell the whole bus but would sell parts. Well long story short, I bought two mint baggage doors for 0.15 cents a pound and they weighed 88 lbs each so I'm into them for about $30. It also has a running 8V92 non turbo engine which I have first shot at. I had a diesel guy tell me at the most it would take 10 hours for him to remove at $95 an hour and the scrap yard only wants 0.15 a pound. This is a complete running bus which is basically just worn out so if you need parts I can hook you up with the salvage yard.

What's an 8V92 like this one worth? It would just be a spare for me to rebuild for fun at my leisure.

The rubbers are kinda toasty and both windows are cracked.

From the factory, I would assume single pane.

Factory installed both, single or dual pane windows.

All depends on what the original purchaser ordered.

Single pane makes both heat and AC work harder.

happy coaching!

hi All, the window frame is the same, the rubber determines whether it's  dual or single pane, the thicker rubber is single pane, the thinner is dual pane, the dual pane can be torn apart for 2 single panes if the gas has leaked out or water has made its way in, or if one pane is cracked, lvmci...

It may be 1100 miles one way but if the window were double pane I'd make the trip for all of them.  Any way to find out if they're double???

CHECK THE BATTERY COMPARTMENT FOR VANNER EQUALIZERS. I got mine that way :). Also check the muffler if it's good pull it.
