so my tanks are busted. the bottom of the driver side one is rusted out. so the question i have for you is this. Should i find another tank the same way. or should i use the tanks ( three of them ) from a semi truck? it would save space and I can make a it safer and bolt them in the front bay. any thoughts?
I would go to a heavy truck parts store. They have various air tanks. Different sizes and bung configurations. You should be able to find something to fit your need.

Do you have size's and connector dimensions? I suppose that you know that the performance of your brake system, compressor, air-build-up etc. is dependent on the size of the tanks. You'll also want similar threaded ports of your stock sizes (for air flow versus time performance). I'd also check out drain ports (accessible to where you can reach them on the road?) But really, once you have things about right, a tank is just a tank.
That would almost certainly be the wet tank on an MC-9. I would just change it. The other tank sitting beside it is the emergency tank. It's size and volume is a critical part of the DD3 emergency brake system, so I would not be putting in a small semi-truck tank. The dry tank on my MCI is behind the rear-most luggage bay on the driver's side. Same deal - it's size is a function of it serving all of the brakes on the bus from a single tank, where a semi-truck has dual front and rear tanks and the trailer has it's own tank. Your wet tank probably rusted from the inside out.
