Hi Guys,
Before I put my right side, (passenger) fuel tank back in the bus I need to be refreshed as to the function of the 3 threaded holes in the top of my tank. One hole is 3/8npt, one is 1/2"npt and the other is 3/4"npt. I had planned to use the 3/4" for my fuel line connection to the primary fuel filter. The 1/2" I had planned to use for the right side air vent at going next to the fill tube. The 3/8" I am unsure of. I have my driver side fuel tank plumed with the fuel return from the engine and the 1/2" threaded hole for the left air vent next to the fill tube. I only had two threaded holes on the left tank.
thanks ahead of time.
Gary, usually the return line on a Eagle goes on the passengers side with the overfill vent tube for the fill neck, on the drivers side, you have the overfill vent for the fill neck, pickup and vent but you never know on a Eagle yours could have had the whistle
OK cliff, as I have it now it seems I can just put a plug in the 3/8" hole as I see no need for it without a function, correct? As I said I have the return line going to the driver side tank and also a overfill vent tube. On my Passenger side tank I have the pickup (3/4"), and the overfill vent tube (1/2"). I do not see any need for the 3/8" hole and if you agree I will just put a plug in it. I may have plumed it up incorrectly on the driver side but it just made sense to me to have the driver tank for the return and vent as it only had two threaded holes to work with.
You are fine Gary as long as the return and pickup are not in the same tank Eagle did the return and pickup on separate tanks to help with the cooling for the fuel.ARE we ready for trip yet after 14 years we should be getting close huh ;D
Gary I really commend your tenacity. Most would have given up by now. You're the man.
Gary,
Sounds like we are on the same schedule :D I started when the baby girl was 2 months old--now she is a 14 yr old freshman in high school.
Steve
Haha Steve, maybe we can meet at a rally when both buses are done and break open a bottle or two or three of wine to celebrate. I have taken some time off for the past few months to do political campaign work and work for a friend who got behind in his business. But spring is just about here and I am diving in again. but have lots of things to adjust before the initial 1st run. Have been in the dumps a few times but guys like Clifford have boosted me up again and now I am on the right tract. But Never, never, never will I ever be interested in doing anything like this again. Kyle did the correct thing. This has been a challenge for an amateur and I hope I have influenced many not to make this trip as I did. good luck Steve, you wait till you see Steve Gain's 05 eagle with (4) slide outs in it!! I can't wait to see it on the road as well as this will truly be one of a kind and he deserves a real big pat on back as well.
Thanks Boomer, I look forward to seeing you at a rally too, come to Palmetto Cove in April if you can.
Steve has fired his so he is ahead lol to bad Pat (Muddog) had to give up on his Prevost that was going to be a nice bus.,I have followed you 3 guys for years now it's coming to a end soon ;D
