Title: How to make your Bus Invisible
Post by: Gary Hatt - Publisher BCM on February 23, 2016, 11:23:36 AM
Anyone know anything about this product and if it would work well in a bus to make everything inside your bus invisible without going thru the hassle removing all of your windows?

It should give you privacy but of course it would not not keep you warm on a cold day or cold on a warm day as you would still need curtains for that.

Also, what would happen if you ran the humidifier all night and your windows are covered with condensation? Would it fall off?

Then one must also ask, what if you lose power, would you have complete privacy or would everyone be able to see everything...OMG?  And if they did see EVERYTHING, would you even know if you were on the inside before they came knocking on your door telling you "get a room"?

I painted my Prevost "Camo" and had to look for it the other day in the pasture where I parked it. At first, Thought I had lost it .  This will help on the windows though. ;D Keep us posted.

I had a camo M38-A1 army jeep and loved it and used to wear my ECWCS Jacket and Pants so I blended right in.  It was great for hunting but I kept running into dear with it so I didn't get to shoot my 30/30 much.

I would love to do the camo thing on my bus with the leaves and all.  My neighbor did it to his pickup but you are right, it is hard to find as it turns invisible in the city.  I have even walked into my jeep more than once and banged up my kneecaps when it was a bit foggy.  Or was it me that was a bit foggy?  :-\

Hummmm.  Works for me as I just tried it again.  Try copying the URL and pasting it into your browser and see if that works.

Does it work for anyone else?

I am waiting until they come out with a beach and a mountain scene and blend them all together so when I am in my bus I will have a 360 degree view of mountains on one side of me and the ocean on the other.

Similar to what I see on my Omnivision 360 camera system that allows me to see all sides of my coach from a birds-eye view.

Do you have any links to the manufacture of your camera system?

Here is a note I included in the email that we send to all Online Magazine Subscribes.  The magazine has much more info about all of the products we advertise for and frequently have articles with more detailed info.  You should consider subscribing as it is our subscribers and advertisers that help keep this forum going.  Here is the blurb I posted.

Premier Services offers the first 360 degree Omniview camera system available in the U.S.  They installed the system on my Eagle last month and I drove to Indio and then on to Quartzsite and back and even backed into my RV spot without running into anything for the first time.  This system offers a birds-eye view of all four sides of your rig to within an inch or two of the ground all around.  There is also a second screen that shows what is behind you when you put your rig in reverse.  When you turn your right turn signals on, you get a 180 degree view of what is on the right side of you and when you turn on your left turn signal you get a 180 degree view of what is on the left side of you.  You can also set it so you can see directly in front of you as well.  This system basically eliminates any need to have a second person guiding you into your parking space, and also makes it much safer driving down the road as there are zero blind spots.

You can also wire it into your existing TV so you will see who is around your bus or knocking on your door from the safety of inside your rig.  If you tow a toad or trailer, you will be able to see the ball hitch out the rear camera so you can back up and get it spot-on every time without having anyone guiding you. Check out their system at http://operationsaferoad.com (http://operationsaferoad.com).  To see a video of their AWESOME camera system in action on a bus conversion click on https://youtu.be/rDUmM9OcDiY. I just spoke with Sam Adams (not the beer, but the guy) from Smart Tint and this process was invented in 1988 at Kent State University. Smart Tint started in business in 2008 to manufacture this product.  Here are some of the answers to questions I posted about this product.

When you lose power, it goes Opaque, so this is probably not something you would want to put on your windshield. But maybe the passenger window if you have a back seat driver.  ;)

It works on bathroom windows and moisture will not get trapped between the film and the glass so running a vaporizer or humidifier in your bus will not be a problem.  If you frequently wake up with a hangover, it will also work on the bathroom mirror as well.  ;D

One dimmer switch will cover up to 80 sq. ft.

So this is pretty AWESOME stuff!

Sam will send more info to post some of it on the Forum and much more to include in an article in a future issue of BCM where you can learn all about it.

The cost is very reasonable at (hold on the phone is ringing)...

Cmon Gary, we want $$$$ numbers! Don't leave us hanging.

Btw, I read the stats on all the colors. White is really your best option because the other colors don't have very good light penetration when in "clear" mode. Like 50% or something
