The South East BusNuts Spring rally will be April 13-16, 2016 at www.palmettocove.com (http://www.palmettocove.com)
Mike Heron is hosting & I am co-host.
We have lots planned, a repower discussion, four dinners, three b'fasts, one 'famous grilled sausage' lunch, one grill your-own-hamburger lunch, the Elvis (Jumpsuitman) concert, and an optional Ladies Lunch at the nearby winery. And, of course, fellowship with fellow busnuts!
You can register at www.sebusnuts.org (http://www.sebusnuts.org)
If you register before March 15, you can take advantage of the 'early bird' fee of $49. After Mar. 15th, it goes up to $69.

Was time to change it anyway
I forgot to mention that all are invited to attend this rally, not just the Southeast Busnuts.
I'm looking forward to seeing everyone there!
We need to attend a rally on the other coast someday sounds like fun.To add Kyle people get bad information that you can not attend a FMCA chapter rally without belonging to FMCA which isn't true FMCA want's you to attend a chapter rally
Cliff,
You have a couple of months to get here ! ;D
Don't forget about the October NonRally - all are welcome to attend that one too !
Clifford
Come on east. and stop by and get Wayne.
If you two come I will have to hunt up a lot of NC spring water.

Way too early for a count.
We are planning for 40 coaches - as more than that register, we will increase the quantities on our shopping list. ;D
Hello Fellow Busnuts,
Hot Dam, this is my 1001st post!
You just knew I would have to jump in here sooner or later. I hope with the announcement this early that you can make definite plans to come to the rally at Palmetto Cove, in cleveland, SC April 13-16, 2016. Those of you that attended the rally we held there a few years ago know of the great time we all had and all stated it was one of the friendliest rallies they have been to.
Mike and Kyle have spent much time arranging this rally for us and with the cost of fuel at a descent level there should not be too many reasons to not come. It is hard to organize a rally and a lot of work so you can plan on food etc. so do your hardest to commit to attend and make the planning a little easier and as far as entertainment, (Mark Woodward - Aka-Elvis) which was at our last rally and quite the hit with the ladies and maybe a few guys?? Kidding here of course, but there will be other music as well during the weekend, Fire pits to sit around and joke and laugh and of course I will probably have to talk about the (Snake In MY Pants)!!
Time is flying by for all of us, make this rally a done deal and try to plan to come a few days early to enjoy the community sights near Palmetto Cove Campground. The cost for early commitment is low enough to allow you not hurt your budget and there is more than enough room for anyone wishing to attend this rally. Camping site reservations are not necessary as this park can easily house 150 full rigs.
Try to respond to the Rally invite and allow Mike and Kyle to get some kind of account of those that wish to come this year, 2016. We had 56 buses and a few RV's at our last big rally at Palmetto Cove and best of all AGAIN that "EVERYONE" is invited and accepted with (NO RESTRICTIONS THAT YOU HAVE TO BE A MEMBER) of any club status etc. The only requirement is that all buses, campers, rv's and all camping apparatuses are self contained per state requirements. This means that a bathroom in all vehicles to be self sustained.
Bring your instruments if you have any, singers welcome as well, and bring your appetite as well as we all eat very, very good.
As usual this is a lengthy post by me, but I cannot express the great time we always have at Palmetto Cove and the only bad part of this rally is that (it goes by so darn fast)! Plan to come a few days early or stay a few days longer and this is one park you will thoroughly relax and enjoy. Bring your cameras, Elvis will put on when heck of a show, I promise! The hosts of Palmetto cove are also the best, anything you need they are more than happy to assist you within their powers.
Here is a 15 minute video from the SEBN Rally Linda and I sponsored in 2011 and this video is dedicated mainly to one of our busnut friends (Dave Bullock) & his great wife Manerva. Dave died only 5 days after leaving this rally, his last bus rally to enjoy and he sure did. Hope you enjoy this dedication to him and the sights of Palmetto Cove if you never been there.

So far about 70 views in the past 30 hours have been made concerning this Palmetto Cove SEBN rally. I hope over this weekend that many of you in nearby states, KY, NC, TN, GA, FL and just anyone wanting to have a wonderful busnut visiting weekend will commit to attend the SEBN Rally in April on this board to encourage others to do the same and also to make your commitment to Mike of the SEBN with your rally fee. This can only help Mike Heron and Kyle Brandt plan for a successful rally like we had in 2011. View the video I posted earlier again, get pumped up and commit.
I promise you that you will have a wonderful time, make new friends and enjoy ones you know already. It is a great time to meet in person those you have been reading about in this BCM format bulletin board. Come on and make a plan, commit ASAP, the more the merrier as you will see. I promise you will talk about the Elvis Show for many years to come as Mark Woodward does a knock down job and is a hell of a nice man as well out of Character / Costume.
so go fill up your bus fuel tanks now while the prices are real reasonable or more so than the past few years for sure. Do all your safety checks and be sure you trip will be worry free, and make yourself relaxed, ready to laugh, eat, listen to music and see one of the best Elvis Impersonators you will ever see in person.
sorry for the length of post, naaaaaaa, I'm not if I can convince you to commit and attend. Have a great weekend, Commit ASAP!
I sure do wish you could make it Clifford, I wish to meet you in person to thank you for all the advise and help you have given me over the past few years. I understand if you can't.
One more thing, "IT IS NOT NECESSARY TO BE A (FMCA) MEMBER TO ATTEND THIS RALLY. I am not a FMCA member and I sure as heck plan to be there and give you a few laughs.
There will be a roundtable discussion, so anything goes . . . repower - be it a series 50 or 60.
Plenty of time for travel discussions too - places we've been & places to go.
We will have several fire pits, so I'm sure there will be plenty of friendly discussions - even if politics comes up ;D
Gary and Kyle
Someone has to come early and kill all the mosquitoes.
uncle ned
Ned,
Please take advantage of the early registration discount so you can make more smoke ;D
Now 380 busnuts have read this post announcement of the Palmetto Cove SEBN Bus rally in April since I last posted, but no one has committed on the board to attend? All of us on the East Coast wishing to confer in a central area now have that opportunity, please don't let this pass you up. Consider committing here for others to see who may be at the rally and encourage them to come here as well and have a hell of a time. Life is short, Fuel prices are down and one word expresses the good time you will have--- PRICELESS!
THERE IS ONLY ABOUT 7 WEEKS LEFT TILL THE OFFICIAL "SEBN" BUS RALLY! OK, I promise if you wish for me not to discuss politics when you come if that will work. I am running out of Ideas here. Only kidding, We all look forward to your attending, ALL ARE WELCOME!!
Kyle I always pay my rally fee out of my contract money for killing mosquitoes.
That is the only way to pay the massive fuel bill for huggy.
LOL LOL
Gary I am planning on being there but at my age you do not plan to far ahead.
Hate for Wilma to have to go by herself just because she had paid in advance.
uncle ned
There are more than 15 that I know of who have committed to attend.
It is going to be a GREAT rally ! ! ! ;D
Could it be that no one has committed because when we go to the sign page it is still saying "Details coming".Then there is a link but when you hit it ,it says page not available!!
On the right side - look for "Spring Rally 2016 (Palmetto Cove, SC)" pick the 'add to cart' button.

I just checked the SE Busnuts' website, and the full details are now available for the Palmetto Cove rally.

You can also see who has a paid reservation. Remember, the early-bird savings of $20. expires after Mar. 15th. Hope to see many of you there!

I just registered a couple minutes ago. Question: Do the sites have sewer too, or is it just one sewer available when you are leaving?
All sites at Palmetto Cove camp ground, Cleveland, SC have separate sewer connections for each and every site. No need to dump at end of rally at a central station. There is 30 & 50 Amp sites available. Go to these links to get information to most questions and views of this beautiful camp ground.

http://palmettocove.com/ (http://palmettocove.com/)
Here is a link to all SEBN rallies held for those wishing to see what they have missed, if I said that right. Anyhow, enjoy what others sure have.

Hope to see you at the SEBN rally in April.
We have had several inquiries regarding paying for the rally by check versus PayPal or a credit card.
If a check is your preference, make it out to 'Southeast Bus Nuts' and indicate on the check that it's for the Palmetto Cove rally.
Mail the check to:
Southeast Bus Nuts
5337 N. Socrum Loop Road, #203
Lakeland, FL. 33809
If the check is postmarked by March 15th you'll still get the early-bird reg fee of $49.
After that, it goes to regular registration at $69.

Most of the sites are pull thru - if you get there early enough. ;D Otherwise, you will have to back in . . . :o
The sites are open & easy access, but were made for the close axle spacing of trailers, so on some sites, a few inches of leveling blocks may be needed for buses.
The water is good - pressure & taste. Most of the plumbing was recently upgraded.
The campground fee is $25/ night. You can pay that when you arrive.
Palmetto Cove does not take reservations - They have never been filled to capacity, so there will be room for everybody!
Thanks! That's what I needed to know!
1,228 views have been made since my first post about the SEBN bus rally at Palmetto cove in April. You have very few days left of this month to take advantage of the $49 per bus fee to attend maybe one of the best rallies you will attend. I am not sure specifically how many attendees have registered to attend but with the weather getting nicer daily, the price of fuel still down reasonable I hope you will make a commitment very soon to attend. I hope to see many of you that I have not meet before there and assure you of a great time. Any of you heading back up North I want to assure you it is worth while to swing over for this rally to enjoy at this beautiful park. Hope to see you there in a matter of 5 weeks now. Drive safely, enjoy the journey to Palmetto Cove where you will never forget about visiting after you attend. Don't forget a professional ELVIS performance will be there for the women, and some guys!!
Twenty-one coaches paid, and another four or five in process. The cut-off for the early reg discount is March 15th - after that it goes up $20.
Mike in GA
Looking forward to being at the rally. From what I see here it will be a good one.
Jack
Hey Jack,
What is Jerry up to? any chance he will be there?
He is in Tenn. now but after this job he will be going to Mo. He told me that he wouldn't be there this time.
Jack
Not much has been said about the breakfasts we're going to have at the Palmetto Cove Rally.
On Friday, Ed and Ann Gallant will roll out their famous, hot 'Monkey Bread' for breakfast. Now folks, the aroma alone of this confection baking is enough to wake you and speed you along to the dining hall. Think ooey-gooey mini rolls with cinnamon and brown sugar. Heavenly! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qQ8OOQE6STQ (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qQ8OOQE6STQ)
On Saturday the team of Howard Best, Jack Campbell and Kyle Brandt will repeat the successful 'Omelets-in-a-Bag' of girl scout lore. You go along with a freezer bag, selecting the ingredients, like bacon bits, green pepper, chunked ham, onion, cheddar. mushrooms, salsa, etc etc, and then two beaten eggs. Mush them up, zip the bag, and drop it in boiling water - a few minutes later you have a great omelet - and we have no frying pans to wash!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pH12RQH4yAw (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pH12RQH4yAw)
On Sunday we will have fresh doughnuts from a local bakery - lots to choose from.
Click on the links in the display below to whet your appetites!

That is a bummer - I haven't seen Jerry in a long time. Maybe next time.
Hello Again everyone, well you guys have only 2 more days, counting today to take advantage the of Early Bird Sign up fee for the SEBN bus rally being held at Palmetto Cove< Cleveland, SC starting on April 13th for early birds. You can save $20 per coach and then it goes up to $69. Please don't procrastinate like we all do, this is the first of the year and always a wonderful place to have a large bus rally.
At $1.79 per gallon of diesel, this equates to 11 free gallons of fuel and this also equates to 55 miles at the $20 Rally Fee savings. I assure you that you will be sorry not to take advantage of the savings and also for not coming to Palmetto Cove in a matter of 4 weeks now. I sure look forward to seeing a lot of busnuts we have meet in the past 13 years now, time is going fast for some of us more than others, so everyone thinks. Only God knows that date you go home for good. Get your coach ready, come and relax, laugh and wish the weekend would last a month longer. I look forward to seeing friends from Florida, probably the finest people I know and fortunate to have meet for all these years and enjoy being with.
Drive Safe, May God Bless.
Just 3 weeks . . . . ;D
Kyle Do you think the mosquitoes will be out and do I need to come down early and spray for them.
Looking forward to getting out and checking out the "Newell".
It will most likely park over on the 50 amp side with all the "Prevos" not next to the old coaches.
I guess my only buddys will be Gene and the shiny MCI of Glens'
uncle Ned
Of course I'll be parked on the 50A side - I have yet to figure out how to get the 30A plug adapter to work.
Yes, you need to arrive early, just in case the mosquitoes are out.

I'm feeling pretty sorry for those mosquitoes ...
I am trying to schedule in my trip early. With the new vica virus the demand for HUGGY" has been tremendous.
Hope I make enough to pay for fuel for several years.
Uncle Ned
P S see every one soon
Uncle Ned I won't be there until Thursday, will you try and be finished by then.
Jack
Can anyone tell me if there is cell phone service from either AT&T or Sprint at the campground? I'd like to be able to check in with the neighbor that's taking care of the dogs while I'm gone.
There is phone service AT TIMES and it is sporadic but some have had good luck with Verizon. They have a land line there also you can use if needed. Now this year it may be better I am not sure.
They installed a repeater, so cell service is better, but not flawless. ;)
There is an AT&T tower close, so that reception is usually better than Verizon. :(
Good to hear! Thanks for the info.
Jack Campbell Do you know where I might get some 100 or bigger injectors
Could do a better job of killing all of those pesky mosquitoes.

Just take the ones you've got and drill 'em out with a 3/16" bit, Ned!
Got any singers coming to the rally? I'll have my equipment set up with just about any song you can imagine available. Only if you care to or should I say dare to. What would be your preferred genre's? Country, blues, 50's, 60's, 70's, pop, or maybe a mixture of all...

I ain't no singer but I like all kinds of music, blue grass to hip hop! ;D
I ain't no dancer but have been known to do so, but really can't remember! :-[
Wes
I see photo op time coming on. Sorry Mike & Kathy I left out Beach Music for shagging & Buffet for you parrot heads! ;)
John,
Music is music so bring it on. Music makes people "HAPPY".
There will be a swap meet of sorts where attendees can sell parts they no longer need.
Does anyone have a need for (4) 6 volt golf cart batteries? They are about a year old. I replaced them with a couple of 8Ds so the house batteries matched the start.
If there is an interest, I'll bring them.
This looks like an excellent rally, I wish I could go. Maybe another year, assuming it is an annual event.
The South East BusNuts have a spring rally every year - the location sometimes moves around - hopefully it will be held at Palmetto Cove often.
There is a Non Rally held the 2nd weekend in October, a very laid back affair with shared meals & lots of fellowship. Hope you can make plans to attend that one. ;D
Kyle are the batteries sealed? I use the 8d's now for house but will be switching to sealed at some point.
They are not sealed, they are the wet cell with vent caps.

If you don't feel like copying & pasting to your browser let's just say it's going to be "beautimous".
Someone bring the marshy mallows & we'll have the snack sticks for the fire rods...
Have you checked out all the food they're planning for this event? I think I better bring a stretcher.
The Bucolic Banjo Player wonders if he could attend for the day on Saturday. His bus is currently immobile, but he'd like to get in on the repower discussion. He is, after all, on the verge of rebuilding an engine, and that would seem to qualify as a "repower."
Any rules against day attenders?
Jim
P.S. We're still checking to see if can get him a day pass from the Home for the Bewildered.
Day attendees are most welcome! Just let me know early enough so we will have enough for the meals.
Only a few days till the party begins!!!! ;D 8)
I hope someone shows up with a Jara Smith style diesel to kill all the mosquitoes for me.
I have a sick daughter and having to look after her and her 2 girls.
Hope to get down any way. maybe Thursday or Friday.
uncle ned
Ned,
I hope your grand daughters know how lucky they are that they have you looking out for them ! I'm sure your daughter knows!
I hope she gets better real soon - it is too nice outside to be sick !
Kyle, add one for lunch and supper Saturday. Mrs. Bucolic Banjo Player says she has better things to do than listen to a bunch of guys drone on about engines.
Jim
P.S. She's actually watching grandchildren that day.

Safe travels to everyone!
It was my considerable pleasure to spend Saturday at Palmetto Cove. Everyone I met was friendly and made me feel welcome. The repower workshop was excellent, the food was great and everyone was sad when Elvis left the building. Actually, it was less like leaving and more like getting a plate and sitting near his mother, but you get the picture.
I won't try to mention everyone who was nice to me. The list is long, and I would leave someone out, but thanks to all. Tom, I especially appreciate you breaking out Mr. Martin to join me for some afternoon music.
I particularly enjoyed reconnecting with friends made just a year ago. Dave and Carol, thanks for gracious hospitality and delightful conversation. Your new machine with the Deutsch heart and Canuck constitution is a wonder. May it carry you to a world of new places as well as your favorite old ones. May it shelter you on the best times of your life. Dave, may it yield all its secret delights. Carol, may it become home to the canine heart which beats in synch with yours. (Kora was thrilled when I told her I'd seen you. She sends a hearty "woof!")
Glen and Ned and Gary, I miss you. Darryl, once again we miss each other by a whisker. So sorry for tragedy in your friend's life. We WILL get the Gilligs together eventually, and then everyone will wish they had one.
Kyle, the Newell is a keeper. Thanks for the late night tour and much philosophy. I hope we have many more opportunities.
South East Bus Nuts, thanks for welcoming the Off-Center Hillbilly.
Thank you Mike Heron for all of your planning to make this weekend happen flawlessly.
The attendees were all instrumental in making the rally a fantastic success!
Made some new friends, got to see friends - some that I haven't seen in years.
Jim, glad you made it!
Wes - watch your back dude, that was wrong, just plain wrong! In spite of that, was great to meet you.
We also had a great time although it was short.
Every one we met was very nice and we were treated like family.
The food was great as was the Elvis show.
I am sure this will not be our last rally.
I will wash the bus before the next one.
Kyle, I have no idea what you are talking about! ;D
Wes
Thanks, Kyle Brandt, for your nice comments in the post today. Folks, I assure you, Kyle himself carried a lot of the weight in planning and bringing off this rally. Props, too, to Gary LaBombard, who helped promote the rally on this board and with his many personal contacts
The rally was well-attended, with 33 coaches coming in from all parts of the south. The weather was pleasant with cool nights and mild sunny days. We ate well, had many pleasant mini-gatherings, and learned quite a good deal about the challenges and rewards of re-powering our tired two stroke DDs with the more modern and efficient Series 50 and Series 60.
About half the crowd came in early for the Wednesday night meatball subs!
The big thrill, of course, was the Saturday night performance of The Jumpsuitman, a.k.a. Marc Woodward, of nearby Albemarle, NC. Marc has been a busnut for several years, and as readers here will recall, he has recently upgraded to a nice Bluebird. His song selection and vocal range were awesome. And every lady present got a scarf and a kiss from The King himself.
Although the SE Busnuts can't have its Spring Rally at lovely Palmetto Cove every year, you can bet we'll be back soon, and hopefully so will Marc!
And thanks again to Kyle, Gary, Marc and all the SEBN members who helped bring this nice event off.
