There will be a bus gathering in Southern California on March 4-6, 2016.
Some of us will be arriving on Friday March 4th and leaving on the 6th.
Those who wish to attend, please contact the Office at East Shore RV Park (http://www.eastshorervpark.com/home) 1-800-809-3778. Ask to be put in Section B as A is already filled up.
This is a non club based get together of bus conversions. Buck Trout on our Facebook page had the idea and has worked to put it all together. You can visit our group page here (https://www.facebook.com/groups/702705519771727).
Bus Conversions International is the group name.
Nothing is planned other than a meet and greet as you arrive and during your stay. If you can't spend the weekend, spend some time with us anyway. If you don't have a bus yet, that's okay too, just come and have some fun.
Gary Hatt will be there to represent BCM.
So far there will be Silver Eagles, MCI's, Prevost, Flxible and one Scenic Cruiser in attendance. Others may show up as the word gets out.
Looking forward to seeing everyone!
Hi;
Looked at the RV park's web site and only found it is in San Demas
someplace. How do I find driving instructions. Did not see an
address either. With an address I could pull up a google map. It
is pretty close and can make that get together.
Merle.
Would like to make it up there as this is local to me too. Merle, on thier website, click on Contact and it gives the address and a map.

Thanks, Merle.
Hi All, East Shore RV park is within Bonelli park, the shore is an earl resorvoir above the Pomona fair grounds, on I10 get of at fairplex, go up the hill. At the top of the hill is a stop light turn left, towards horse corrals, as you come to a gate to the park, turn right, go further up a hill crests near a spa, then down the hill, you will see park and lake, stayed there many times, lvmci...

. . . stayed there many times. . .
Tom -You going to join us? I'll be in A-104.
RJ
Hi RJ, The weekend before I'm doing the red carpet show and staying for a couple days maybe on the ocean, sounds like fun, altho commuting down the I10 to Hollywood is no fun, tom...
Tom I agree. If we didn't have to drive in LA I-10 ever again it will be to soon. ;D
Dave
The dates have been changed to now include Friday the 4th.

This from somebody who has to deal with the traffic around Sacratomato, which is almost as bad as LA nowadays.
;D ;D
RJ, I know right except being Semi retired I don't have to be in it that much anymore.
Now funny because Mamma said so are we going? It's generally me talking about it. So we will be there also. I told her heck I want to just go out for a month but we have to be back the following Tuesday. We will be there leaving Roseville on the 3rd and rolling in the 4th leaving to go home the 7th. Just hope we don't run into Mr. Hand in San Dimas!...lol
Dave ;D
We're looking forward to a local gathering. Honeysuckle Rose, our little bus conversion is excited about meeting some real buses.
Our friends, Jeff and Cathy and their grandson will be coming in their S&S though I'm trying to get them to move up to a bus.
I made reservations for us this AM, but the campground folks didn't seem to recognize the group name-----
See you all there! Jack
We made reservations also tonight and they said B is all full so we are in C section #48 last one on the water. See yas all there.
Dave5Cs
Dave & Doreen Walker and the 3 Cats and yes 23Lb Larry will be there too.
That sounds great.... because the location is very close to me!
I am actually storing and working on my bus right around the corner in La Verne. Is it OK to have a looky loo come by to meet some of you and see what has been done on some of the coach's in person?
It would be my girlfriend and I coming and we would not want to be a hinderance. The timing is perfect because we are just finishing up our flooring and will be looking to do a roof raise/interior work in the coming months, it would be invaluable for us to see examples in person.
Please let me know if inquisitive eyes and ears are welcome (I would bring the bus but it wouldn't be worth it to see it all gutted out!).
One more thought.
If looky loos are OK what time would be best to attend? We only have the weekends to work on our bus so we try and maximize the daylight with bus work. Of course, we will work around any times that are best. As I have never attended something like this I don't know if timing is really an issue or not.
Thank You

NAME?? -Saturday afternoon will be when the majority of folks are all there.
Since this is a non-rally, there aren't any events planned except coffee & donuts Sat & Sun morning.
Somewhere among us there will be a campfire, where lots of smoke will be blown, probably both Fri & Sat evenings.
If the front door's open, usually there's somebody around, so feel free to knock, introduce yourself and say hello. Lots of folk will gladly give you tours, most all we ask is that you be respectful of others. Bring a camera to capture ideas - with permission, of course.
I'll be in A-104, arriving Friday afternoon. I'll be glad to show you my coach, which was converted on a brand new shell.
The time spent here will not be in vain - you'll take away far more than losing productive time on your conversion.
Speaking of introductions, please take a minute to update your forum profile info to something similar to mine. At least a first name, home-base city/state, plus year, make, model and powertrain of your coach. That will help us help you with parts and service sources, as well as possibly finding a fellow busnut nearby! Simply click on the "Profile" tab above, then, in the LH menu, click on Forum Information and follow the prompts.
See you Saturday??
FWIW & HTH. . .
;)
Thank you for the information. We will definitely be there Saturday and look forward to meeting you and others.
I updated the profile information as specified. I need to take a closer look at the transmission, though it should be an Allison I am not sure exactly. When I get this information I will include it in the power train info.
Once again, I appreciate the info and really do look forward seeing and meeting everyone.
Cheers,
Bjorn

Hi;
Most bus nuts are only too happy to talk about their busses. For you it is an excellant
opportunity to gain ideas and information. The more busses you look at the more
ideas you might use on your own coach.
If you are close, you can stop by any time Fri or Sat. Sun most folks are leaving.
Merle.
I definitely agree that it is a great idea to gain ideas for the next steps in our conversion.
We are going to plan on coming Saturday to hopefully meet as many of you as possible and see what there is to see!
We never show off our coach unless you are alone or with someone and only in good or bad weather. Even though our door is closed just ask because we have 3 cats that stay inside.
Dave5Cs
Also planned is a Karaoke event on Saturday night at Jay and Kathy Benson's Eagle. That should be a fun time! 8)
So far we have 18 signed up with more possibly coming.
Come one, come all, it's going to be a great time!
The Beluga Bus will be there, got a lake view on C loop.
Sure it would. Some have come with a curtain and a bucket for a bathroom and not finished yet. It would give some an idea of where to start and see some under structure. ;D
Dave
Heck, why do you need a curtain? All you need is a bucket and a poncho. This works well in a minivan or SUV too. Why get too fancy? In fact, you don't even need a vehicle. Just get an old wooden chair, put a 5 gallon bucket under it and bring it to the campfire. All you need then is a long poncho with a TP roll in an inside pocket and learn how to pull your arms out of the sleeves without being too obvious and you can drink all night without having to even leave the campfire. Total cost less than $5. ;D
Gary Your a sick Man, LOL!!!...... ;D ::) :o
Dave5Cs
Bump!...
hi All, looks like I'll be able to join the festivities in the F section 4/6 march, by storing the bus at the park for a few days lvmci...
Great Tom. So now we will see if Clifford will show too.....love it when a plan comes together eh.
Dave

Hey Clifford. If you show up for the rally, I will give you a free can of Kano Aerokroil - The Creepy Oil. Thanks so much for recommending it. Now I can toss out my Smoke Wrench as I will no longer need it to loosen those old rusted bolts.

Even if you bring your baby bus, we promise we won't laugh at it.
Give me break Gary,if we can get a spot we will roll in on the 3rd we need to be at Camp Pendleton the morning of the 3rd to pickup a Humvee trailer.I had rather hang out with you guys any ways and it's only 80 mile. 1 RV park close to the base on the bay quoted me $300.00 a night,I told her no thanks I just wanted a space to park for a night and I had no intention of buying the space lol I may come in the van just for you
hi All, any early arrivals at east shore, I'm here, tom, lvmci...
I'm close. 45 minutes away but I won't be there for about another week. I drive V E R Y slow.
I have to work, leaving mon day back to east shore friday, leaving the Italian Greyhound in their storage for 4 days $10 for a day than.
YEH Clifford and Sonja's coming, Sis,sis,sis ;D ;D
something about never going to California, LoL ::)
Its Ok we gave in too because of you guys!...
Dave & Doreen :D :D
Hey Dave I bought fuel in Needles of all places it's .$20 a gal lower than my side of the river at a new station I never saw that before ;D
That's nothing Cliff. When I was growing up Diesel only cost 20 cents per gallon!!! :D
I can beat that Hatt I used to buy off road fuel (real diesel) for 11 cents a gal delivered to the job site
Well that s gonna stop this weekend. Fuel prices in California are going up this weekend .50 a gallon. Imagine that!... ??? LOL
Dave
I can afford 50 cents per gallon. Going to fill up my pony tank too. Haven't seen diesel prices like that for over 40 years. ;)
hi All, been commuting on the I10 every morning, thank god for weekend jobs, I must say it's vastly improved they shaved down the cement sections repairs, no longer like going over speed bumps at 70mph, east shore is still a great place, an oasis in the center of such have a huge metro area, Clifford, what percentage bio fuel is that diesel, still remember the biodiesel in Barstow clogging up my old 5As, new fuel filter, tom. lvmci...
hi All, any early arrivals? I'm down by the lake F154, Cliffords here too in the A section, lvmci...
Is anyone gonna say sumtin' We wanna hear all the sorted details, 18 coach's is all I got outta tomV today ;D
Don't believe anything Tom says. ;D It was 118-1/2 coaches all together. People came all the way from Hawaii to attend. One of them had a close call during a bad storm, but made it at the Long Beach pier eventually. The 1/2 coach was Cliff Allen's as he brought his baby bus the Trek.
Getting all of the facts and figures summed up this week for an article in the May issue of BCM. My count may be off a little bit, but I will know later in the week and let everyone know unless someone posts a more accurate count in the meantime.
Nevertheless, you missed a great rally with Free Beer, Free Doughnuts, Free Karaoke, Free Beer, Free Hard Liquor, Free Pizza, Free Beer, Free Chicken Sliders, Free Coffee, Free Rally Plaques, Free Beer, Free Electric Bike Test Rides (before the Free Beer), Free Name Tags, Free Bus Conversion Magazines, Free 3-Month subscriptions to Bus Conversion Magazine, and did I mention Free Beer? :D
Just some laid back people enjoying each others company, only complaining was the RV park wouldn't give anyone a break for no power Saturday and the park knew in advance it was going to happen.
It was a fun gathering Gary Hatt was up to speed with his camera lol he even bought the donuts the problem was he didn't know how to open the box but mangled donuts are still good ;D.
It was nice to see all the Flx people they have some good looking buses you should have made it, I was the only one there towing a camo Humvee trailer behind the Trek and they didn't care
Cliff was the only one that didn't complain about not having power all day. But then again, 100 years ago when Cliff was born, there was no power so he probably didn't even notice. ;D
Where did everybody go? We are still here leaving today. Jay & his wife Kathy, Benson are across from us too. Beautiful today on the lake. Yesterday was a deluge rain and wind. Great NRG.
Thanks Gary and group. Nice buses and interesting people. Good food.
Grapevine was clear today and lots of Traffic. Made it to Lost Hills by 3:30pm and had Mexican food at gabbie's. Good mexican resturant on 46. Heading to Sacramento Roseville tomorrow. ;D

Dave,
The only problem I had was it went to fast! After reading your reply I realized that we never did get to see the inside of yours. Maybe next time huh..... ;)
25 total buses came to the event. Just about any brand of bus you can think of from a Scenic, Flx, Silver Eagle, GM, MCI's, Prevost and a Trek! ::)
Great gathering, great fun, great people! What more can you ask for! Donuts were okay too! ;D
Next year's event is already being planned.
