Hello all! :-) I will know hopefully by the end of the week or by the middle of next week wether my bid to change career paths will come to fruition. If so then I will be relocating from southern New Hampshire to the Syracuse New York area.
It's only 5 hours away from my family and would like to stay to the east of Syracuse.
So my plan is to live in the bus from early spring to late fall, that is once I bring it up from Florida!! And was wondering if there's any locals or any one that has decent knowledge of seasonal campgrounds ,RV parks or anyone that has a lot available .
There are so many things that have kept me from going to Florida to get it since late summer. I am hoping the company that I will be working for gives me enough time to go down and get it and bring it up here, & I believe they will as they want me to start immediately and normally they would give a self employed person 90 days to close their business but they need me the second week of March. So we've already lightly touched on the basis of me taking two weeks off after the first month of shows and training.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! & I can hardly wait to bring her up past the mason-dixon line :-) :-)

Snow. will come down until mid April most years. Mid May to see warm temps.

Ok folks! I am making the move to Syracuse New York.
Can't seem to find an apt from a distance and seriously considering the coach for a time utill I have time to scout the area out.
If any body has info on camp grouds,parks or a lot with electric hook ups I would certainly appreciate it !!
I will continue to look but if anyone is in the know please share!! :-)

That's what I spent 5 hours on with apartment finder places aren't open past four or five in the afternoon which I understand and a lot are not even open on the weekends. Which is the only time I have to look.

Think I was just more or less looking for somewhere that would accept an antique bus that had hookups that I could use as a temporary station until I can spend more time looking at local apartments
Id see if you can get on a Good Sam forum or a camper forum. They may be able to recommend an older 2nd class (more reasonable and longer term) campground that would fit your needs that is in or near Syracuse.

You have already been tipped off about the cold & snow, but it is very true. I went to school in Oswego and Ithaca, and you can expect a lot of snow some winters. There should be online listings for campgrounds, and it would be best to get a monthly or seasonal rate. Just tell them what you have so there are no surprises when you get there. I would not call your bus an antique, it is only fifty years old. One problem you might have is finding an apartment that will allow you to park your bus there. You might have to put it in a storage lot, or find a campground with an annual plan that includes off-season storage.

TIP: Tell the folk at the various campgrounds that you have a 35' Class A diesel pusher motorhome. Refrain from using the word "bus" because the first thing that pops into their head is the "Partridge Family" hippie bus. Be prepared to send a picture as backup.

Lou also if you put into google," RV parks ( then put the road or hyway or area) into the search bar, it will give you a map of the area or whole state with the RV parks marked on it. :)

Lou, I used to fly into Syracuse (or Rochester) every winter, to work on the summer schedules (ironic) for a local transit system. If I recall, and if I was told correctly, there's a snow belt north a few miles north of the Syracuse airport, that often gets significantly more snow than Syracuse and points south. Kind of a micro-climate. That may be worth checking into with your contact folks in Syracuse, as you look for a place to settle. You might want to avoid such an area.

Watertown and Oswego got the highest amounts of snow, then it tapers down from there.
Arthur, that is a great point I will definitely investigate that in its fullest. I'm not opposed 2 north south east or west of Syracuse just trying to stay centrally located within my territory.
I did talk to Susan at this place in the screenshot. And we'll go look Friday afternoon and or Saturday but it sounds nice. $1,800 for the season May to October electric is extra and cable as extra. Don't care about TV or cable so shouldn't be too bad if that's the route I take. And right now if I had to pull the trigger on it that's exactly what I would do and then just drift around the Syracuse area for the summer looking and investigating winter digs.
