I am proud to say that I made it all the way to Indio and then onto Quartzsite for the two shows and back, and backed into my RV Park space without hitting anything for the first time.
I owe it all to my new Omniview 360 Degree Camera system. It produces a birds-eye view so you can see within an inch or two on all four sides of your rig. It does this by stitching the images from four cameras mounted on the sides of your coach such that it looks like you are flying over your bus.
There is also a second screen that shows what is behind you when you put your rig in reverse. When you turn your right turn signals on, it changes to a 180 degree view of what is on your right side and when you turn on your left turn signal you get a 180 degree view of what is on your left side. You can also set it so you can see directly in front of you as well. This system basically eliminates any need to have a second person guiding you into your parking space, and also makes it much safer driving down the road as there are zero blind spots.

This was brand new late last year and is the greatest thing since pockets on a shirt. And it costs less than it would to fix most minor damage on your bus and less than most of the drones out there that now require being licensed to operate. Besides using a drone to see what you are backing into is like patting your head and rubbing your tummy at the same time. This unit is much simpler.
On top of that you can hook it into your TV and keep an eye on what is going all around your bus and see who is knocking at your door without having to peak out the blinds.
This is totally AWESOME and to think, no more new dents.
YouTube link is wrong-repost it corrected.
The period at the end of his sentence got added to the link.
Thanks for the correction. Now it should work.
Now zero blind spots and zero periods. :)
How many camera's does it consist of ?

I'd bet that that would be useful for somebody who'd be stupid enough to buy a bus with the steering wheel on the right side ...
What I want to know is where they get the picture of your bus roof from. It'd be a bit annoying to install one of these systems and find you were actually driving some generic S&S according to the screen...
Neat idea by the way - hate to say it though but I'll be waiting until the $50 Chinese knock-offs appear on Ebay.

Thanks Gary - it looks like 4 cameras moosemanusa, according to Gary's post.
Gary - is this a lot more expensive & complex to install on our buses than just a stick/staple motorhome? I'm thinking of our MC9. In checking through the literature I'm surprised at the lower cost of this - not what I was expecting.
Also, in checking their site it looks like they make a point of hiring our vets. That's a big deal to me & I applaud them for this.
Thanks for any additional info -
Kind Regards, Phil
Super cool idea. I will not be purchasing one for several reasons. One of the minor reasons is it would be totally confusing watching a birds eye view of my vehicle. That would be so strange.
Not if you were a bird. ;D

This coming from the guy who has a monkey sitting at his computer. lol. But you do have a point.
Hey, I resemble that. ;D
@Jeremy, its a jpeg image that gets added during the calibration process.

Occurs to me that the other way of doing this would be to have a 'follow me' drone (like the Zano drone was supposed to) that actually flew above your bus and beamed live pictures down to the screen. You could even send it down the road ahead of you so you could see what was coming up...
Ok, I'll be quiet now ::)
Jeremy
Now that's thinking outside the box...

Yeah, but it probably cost much more than the camera set up.
my wifes suv has 7 cameras and I keep sticking my head out the window to see were the over head camera is ... no luck , maybe it is from a satellite and I can't see that far ;) ;) ::)

Bruce-In europe, truckers that do alot of mountain pass driving prefer right hand drive to be able to easily see the right side of the truck against the drop off. I once drove a London double decker (1953) for a weekend. It wasn't as hard as I thought it was going to be. The pre-select 4-spd semi automatic was interesting. Good Luck, TomC
I drove in Australia and Ireland and you get used to it pretty fast on the other side. ;D

I bet Jack Conrad will have one of those selfie drones to follow him down the river.
