Hello, we have a MCI9 with 1 1/2" insulation in the walls, currently we have 2 40 lb LP tanks on board, does anyone have any feel for how long this gas will last in 25 deg F weather, I would have my thermostats set at about 72.
Thanks! First time out in cold weather with the coach and don't want to be caught in the cold.
Jim
Jim, we are well insulated with small windows and in that weather our 20lb tank lasted between 6-10 days

I don't have an answer for you but some more information would help....
How much insulation in the ceiling?
What are you using for a heat source?
Do you have a lot of windows? Single pane? Do you have coverings over your windshield?

We have 1 1/2 insulation along with bubble wrap insulation on the ceiling, the windows are double paned and we have shades for the windows. We are using a propane gas furnace.
R U planing to boondock or are you staying where there are hook up's? If you are going to have hook ups ,I would use an I heater. That is what my wife and I do.These things are available for heating up to 1800 square feet. They are so safe that you could leave a news paper laying on top of it (not recommended) all day and it will not catch fire .They have gotten smaller and are all way's cool to the touch.Granted ,we have never been in sub zero temperatures but lets face it ,if it is that cold ,we need to either be at home or in the local Day's Inn!!lol
