Title: Detroit diesel smoke
Post by: Scott Crosby on January 30, 2016, 10:07:59 AM
Watch this super smokey Detroit diesel start up in slow motion... It's kinda funny to watch each individual puff of the cylinders changing from just super white at first.  It stops smoking completely after 2 min (real time) or so but even warm days this thing smokes like that.

Check out this video on YouTube:

If it doesn't have an odor to it, could be a leak in the cooling system getting into the combustion chamber (not good). A 2 stroke Detroit should only smoke like that on a less than 40 degree day. That amount of white smoke could mean a tired engine. Good Luck, TomC
