A long time member and former moderator of the board, Dallas Farnworth, passed away last night in Franklin, Texas. He and Cat had been workcamper/managing a small RV park. He will be cremated and his ashes spread in Franklin, the only place he considered home for a long time. Cat will be moving to South Carolina to be near family. Please keep Cat in your prayers as she goes through this difficult time. I considered Dallas a friend and will miss him. (This post will be moved to Final Arrival after an appropriate time.)
Dallas helped and annoyed virtually everyone on this board. I honor him for both... rest now that the work is done and the day has ended.
Brian
My heart breaks for Cat as she deals with losing her soul mate. We will be praying for strength and peace for her.
Dallas helped a lot of us, myself included.
For those who were not Facebook "friends" with Dallas and Cat, they were having to leave their workkamping location after spending years there. The plan was to find a low cost RV/bus to use to move to South Carolina where her family is and then live in the RV. They have a GoFundMe account that was set up to help them with moving expenses. Cat is still going to need a lot of help, financial and otherwise. If you want to help her out financially, the GoFundMe page is the easy way to do that.

If you are in a position to help out with the move physically, logistically, or with transportation, I am sure she would welcome it. You can contact her through Facebook if you are on there. Or you can email any of the Moderators here on the board and they can forward a message to her.
Yes, sad news indeed. Though I never met him personally, like so many others on this board, Dallas was a true friend. I will miss him.
Our heartfelt condolences to Cat and all of Dal's family. He will be missed.

I was hoping that Dal and Cat would have some good time left ... but sometimes life doesn't give you everything you want. This is sad news.
I fondly remember Dallas. One time he posted take a good look at this 1947 MCI coach on ebay. I clicked the link like most people do an lo and behold it was in the city that I lived. Ended up buying it and Dallas laughed.
First Rally I ever went to was the Timmonsville rally they hosted. They made us feel welcome, even tho we didn't have a bus.
We didn't bring any food as we thought we would go shopping once we got there. Cat would have none of that! She told us that there was plenty of food. I told her that I still wanted to contribute, so she made a 'donations' pot just so I could contribute.
I based my NonRallys on this, everyone is welcome to participate as they wish.
Cat & Dallas were at my first NonRally - sure will be missed !
RIP Dallas.
When I first joined this board years ago, "justdallas" and his funny little monster avatar were posting all the time on the forum. Always interesting, always raising a little cane. He even posted just recently embarrassed to be asking for financial help but knowing the bus community would help him. So strange and sad to realize he's gone. So sad. RIP.

RIP Dallas!
Dallas was a world of information and a truly good person!
I am glad to be able to say that I was able to meet and spend time with Dallas and Cat both!
I feel for Cat now that she has lost Dallas as they truly kept each other going!
He will be missed, but at least he no longer has to suffer the terrible pain he was in here on earth.
He is in heaven where he can converse/argue with Richard, Sammy, Sonnie and many other great busnuts that have left us way too early!
:'( BK :(
Phyllis and I met Dallas & Cat some years back. He amd I were amazed at how many times our paths almost ctossed when we were both truck driving. So sorry to hear he is gone.

When I got the word from Cat I was stunned......We had just chatted about an Eagle he was looking at but he felt it just wasn't meant to be. I'll miss ya ole Buddy!
Prayers to you Cat for peace and strength during this difficult time!
I'm sure glad we got to come and visit you and Cat a few years back at the rally you had in Franklin. Fun times for sure..
You are one of a kind and we'll miss ya! :'(
RIP Dallas!
So sorry to hear about Dallas. Heartfelt condolences to Cat. He was a special guy and will be greatly missed.
Dallas and I were friends on F/B I get home from Quartzsite and have a PM from him he knew his time was up,he asked me a for favor and I will do my best to full fill it.
We have over 4000 members here a $1.00 from each would get Kat home without having all the extra stress and she needs the help.
He did take a parting shot at me saying it all in fun "You are the only one left now that can piss the Pope off at a 30 second confession" and ended using a old CB slang "catch you on the flip side
RIP
Dallas
Clifford. Where/how do we chip in? I will help.
I'm in also.
Strangely enough, Dave Walker mentioned him in a story when he was here last week.
I am not rich and I am not being boastful but I donated 1000.00 to get this lady home to be with people who love and care about her and I am challenging all of you to step up and help.
What if this was your wife, mother, grandmother and so on! Help financially if you can,if you are not able to help financially send up a prayer for this poor lady and the wishes of her beloved husband.
Wes
Thank you Wes
Here is their Go Fund page. :'(

Well it ain't much, but I threw in a few bucks to help Cat out!
I sure feel bad for her knowing what my sister went thru losing her husband less than a year ago. Still having trouble helping my sister keep her head above water as she fights with SS & Disability trying to get some kind of income since she has none and they keep denying that she is eligible for either!
So we struggle along helping keep her bills paid and her vehicle running and food in her refrigerator!

Good for you. A lot of seniors have no one to help them.
Wes
Does anyone know for sure that Cat can access the GoFundMe account. It was created by Dal and I hope Cat would know the username and password and have access to the bank account it would go to.
In my case, my wife wants nothing to do with final arrangements, I have told her numerous times where the Will, Insurance papers and asset list is and all she hears is BLA BLA BLA
I hope Cat is more informed
Someone has the password as the comments have been updated and persons thanked...
May the Lord Jesus Christ be with his family and friends at this time and forever more.
I just chatted with Cat, she does have access to the account. So no worries there. She still can use some help, please give what you can to help her get moved and settled. Dealing with Dallas's death and being told to move out at the same time has to be extremely stressful.....
Does anyone know what sorta of fees she has to pay using GoFund ? I am going to set her up on a monthly contribution and if they take 15 or 20% of the funds I just soon send her a check.Dallas had a Pay/Pal account I wonder if the fees are less
PayPal is free if you use the Family and Friends option. I send money that way all the time...
A lot of sellers will try to get you to use that option because they can beat e-Bay fees that way.
But then you have no arbitration or recovery process if you get stiffed.
So yes PAYPAL can be free.
from gofund me dot com :
While it's free to create and share your online fundraising campaign, GoFundMe will deduct a 5% fee from each donation that you receive. Since our fee is deducted automatically, you'll never need to worry about being billed or owing us any money.
Thanks Donald I can live with the 5%
RIP Dal.
Donna and I met Dal and Cat on our first trip south. We stayed at the RV Park in Franklin for a few days, and enjoyed their company thoroughly. Dal provided advice to me many times when converting the coach, and later he did some web hosting for me.
He will be missed.
We wish you the best, Cat, as you continue your journey.

May he rest in peace..................................
I was finally able to handle reading the comments made about Dallas. I thank you all for your words, friendship and help. Two wonderful men drove from SC to TX leaving on the 25th, arriving on the 26th, loaded me up and we left TX on the 28th. I arrived at Myrtle Beach on the morning of the 29th. My mom was able to rent me a park model for the month of February. I'm in the process of hunting for a permanent place. Dallas introduced me to the bus world and I easily learned to love buses and bus nuts. Some of you I have met in person and some just online but each of you has a special place in my heart. I have appreciated the donations as well as the prayers. Thank you and may God bless each of you the way each of you has blessed me.
