Title: Window replacement
Post by: Beesme on January 03, 2016, 02:19:48 AM
I am preparing to replace coach windows . I have 4 new Lci double insul windows coming. The question is, when I take out existing windows, should I cover over side of bus with one piece of Fiberglass or sheets of aluminum. It is a 4106. and if so what thickness? Thanks

Bruce I used 1/4" aluminum and riveted it in on the window flanges. I pinched weather seal putty in between to keep out the water and wind. Looks factory and hopefully holds up well.

Well I just got done removing middle trim , fluting between windows and rain gutters phew! Now I'm in a whiteout!!! But at least it's 30 deg haha..now gonna start removing rivets. I know I'm doing this backwards .... I mean I already finished interior a few years ago. Now gonna rip it all apart ,well hope it won't be that bad . I did finish interior for 50" windows where my bus windows are . Other areas are all wood inside so just cutting holes should keep interior intact.i am installing 5 windows at 50" x 24" 2 in living room and 3 in bedroom 2 on walls and 1 on back. 1  36" x 24" over dinette. And one 18" x 16" in bathroom . Wish me luck . Awww jus kidding I know it will be beautiful . Me and wife still need to find rally within 500 miles,,,gotta keep close because of jobs uno. but we wanna see other buses and peoples lol . Only another yr or 2 and hopefully we can travel more extensive..
