If you are a real Bus Nut and you are heading to the Quartzite rally for the first time, there are several bus groups you can stay with. However the two that we at BCM are aware of are the GM and the Eagles groups. Both are fine groups with real down to earth kind of people and both accept any kind of bus conversion. They both will be camped out at the Quartzite Market Place and all bus conversions will be parked on the west side of the 40 acre property as requested by these two groups which is in the northeast corner of Rt 95 and Kuehn St.
To get to Quartzite Market Place exit I-10 at Rt. 95, drive about 1/4 mile south to the first stop light, then turn left onto Kuehn St. Then look for an opening to enter the Quartzite Market Place and drive about 300 feet in and the check-in office will be on the left. It is not your typical KOA kind of office, but looks more like a down to earth chicken coop converted into a small office. Most transactions are processed on the front porch.
When you enter the property and say you are with either group, you will be charged a deeply discounted rate of $7/night for dry camping. If you don't have a bus, you will be charged an exorbitant rate of $8/night. :-) So be sure to tell them you are with one of these groups. You pay when you leave and if you are paying by check, make it out to Quartzite Market Place as they are no longer affiliated with Rice Ranch which is on the south side of Kuehn St. They go on the honor system and Mary is a very nice woman, so please remember to pay when you leave.
To contact the Quartzite Market Place directly, which is not really necessary, call 928-927-5849.

Be sure to watch the Drone video of each group to see how they park their buses.
Please contact these folks before arriving so they can plan to order enough Steak and Lobster for all. Or maybe it is Hot Dogs and Chips, I forgot which.
P.S. If anyone knows of other Bus Nut groups such as the Prevost group or others, feel free to post it here so everyone will know what choices they have.
You have to get off I-10 at either exit 17 or exit 19. The first is on the west side of town and the other one is on the east side of town. Both are about a mile from where Hiway 95 crosses over I-10 and heads to Yuma.
Hi all;;
Just a note; I have always used exit 19. This is because I make a right turn off the exit,
make another right turn on the frontage road, and make another right turn into what was
rice ranch. (now market place) Because of traffic, I found it easier to make right turns.
Hopefully I will make it this year. Have a few things to fix on the bus.
Merle.
I too am a right turner for the most part, and plan many of my routes thru towns using right turns whenever possible. However in Quartzite, traffic is backed up most of the time during the show, and I have found that the traffic there is mostly RV owners at that time of the year and they will always let you cross traffic because they know you will need more room than a 4-wheeler. Sometimes crossing lanes is also better if you have a BIG rig or are towing a trailer so you get a wider swing so you don't take out the side of your rig on the way in and there will also be a LOT of people walking around on both sides of the road.
Other than Quartzite, I agree with Merle 100%.
Just like I plan all of my routes to primarily go downhill to save on fuel.
I try to go downhill both ways! lvmci...
Van taught you that trick huh

I find I'm just going down hill generally! ??? Jack
Or come in I-5 or 99 to 58 to 40 CA 95 to 60 to AZ 95 to Kuehn St. turn left and turn left again into the market place, Done ;D
Dave5Cs
Even easier, come up 95 from Yuma and turn right on Kuehn St. then turn left into the market place. ;)
Becky and I will be there for our first enlightenment! ;D
Traveling with a caravan of Eagles, I'll follow whoever leads the pack! If the first one makes a wrong turn, we'll back him up! Not sure who will lead us, maybe Eddie or Art. We always take up the rear anyway....
See Y'all then!
Travel safe and watch for those alligators!
Paul are Randy and Kelly not coming ? lol I would follow Eddie following Art is not a good idea Eddie knows where he going Art don't really care where he is going, him and Cindy are a lot of fun both real laid back people 2 of my favorites
My wife, Ginni, and myself will also be there for the first time.
Looking forward to meeting many of you for the first time. ;D
I'll be on the clock much of the time @ my 'day job' but should still have plenty of time to visit.
Kind Regards, Phil
I talked with Randy today. Their plans are to head out on 40 to Laughlin then south on the 95. Maybe doing that on the 13th. So they'll be in your neck of the woods.
Then after the Q we'll all caravan back on the 10 on Sunday the 17th. I'll make sure and follow Eddie! ;D
Art posted a photo on FB of Gary making his way east during our rain storm in his Eagle. It was a nasty trip I'm sure.
Phil, it will be great to finally meet you after all this time!
Safe Journey's everyone!
Janet and I will be there the night of the 11th, how ever we will be at the High Jolly out on 95 with about 12 other friends of ours who all have stick and staples and we will 4 wheel and also be on our trike some times but we plan of being a rice ranch a lot to see people we have met and meet new ones.
Sandy and I are coming in for the weekend as well, we have sold are Eagle but will be in our Featherlite Vogue

Paul - when are you planning on arriving?
Thanks! Phil
Phil, We'll be there tomorrow late afternoon, before dark I hope! ;)
If all goes well (and what could possibly happen), we'll be rolling in by about 2-3:00pm Paul!
We will be in tomorrow by afternoon if no more air problems. Thank you kevin AZDieselman. Open air drier and a few other things.

Great you are up and running you had good help Kevin is a good dude someone I call a friend
Wife & I are here and all I can say is WOW! First time ever at Quartzsite - never seen so many buses at one location. It's simply amaaaazing. Staying with the GM group and they have been so kind and welcoming to us, like coming home to old friends. Then all we have to do is walk across the dry creek and there is the fine Eagle group,- and yet more friendly welcoming folks. I'm hooked already and can't wait for next year! So good to meet those I've only corresponded with on the forums. To those who've not attended the rallies - don't keep putting it off. Diesel is cheap and this is a lot of fun!
Thanks all and kind Regards, Phil
We will not make Quartzsite :we are still in Texas: overnight at camp WM in Ft Stockton. Popular place, with at least a dozen rigs in the parking lot. We are now aiming for just North of Phoenix to visit friends. We will miss seeing y'all, and meeting new nuts. Maybe next year...
Y'all enjoy! Been in the South, picking up an accent now, ;) Those that know me will laugh...
JC
JC, you missed the breakfast this morning,......we did take Gary and Gail as token Canadians though! :)
Hi Gary and Gail! Sorry about missing you. Haven't seen you in a while...
JC
Great rally & looking forward to next year.
Other than mistakenly parking behind Gary Hatt's Moose Bus #2 & finding a "SOLD" sign on my bus the next morning we had a lot of fun. Speaking of selling things - be sure you have have a subscription to Bus Conversion Magazine - it's a great publication for our bus community and it keeps this web site in operation!
Thanks for all the kindness out there at the rally and on this forum.
Kind Regards, Phil
We sure had a blast! It was great to meet you and Gary for the first time! I wish more time could have been spent, but so much to do and so little time. I can't wait for the next one!
We're back home and settled in until our next trip to Oregon in April.
Take care Phil and Gary! Thanks for all you do for us Bus Nuts!
I'm home now. I had a really fun few days and nights.
It was great to reconnect with those that I've met at past events and to meet so many new people. Some were just putting faces to names I knew and others were brand new.
It's a great group of folks, Bus brand aside. Some shared entertainment on Fri and a "catered" meal on Sat night.
The buses are the common bond, and it's great to see so many unique examples.
Listening to the stories about the conversion process, and life on the road afterward while trying to avoid the continually moving column of smoke from the campfire is a great way to spend an evening. The topics were many and changed often.
I look forward to the "Q" next year and would encourage any and all to attend.
Many thanks to those organized and produced another successful gathering.
Kevin
