Title: Oil needed in Eagle Transfer case, Miter Box & 4 speed Transmission
Post by: Gary LaBombard on November 13, 2015, 11:26:31 AM
I have been searching for straight 90wt. oil to use in my 1973 Eagle transfer case, 4 speed transmission and miter box but in my area there is only 80/90wt oils available.  I was trying to reach Clifford about this but I may have lost my email in heaven.  anyhow I know he will see this here but is there a problem using the 80/90wt or continue looking, perhaps at a Farm Tractor supply for the 90wt.  Also, is there any special additives I need to know about being in the oil while searching?

Gary,I always used 85/140 Valvoline you can buy it at O'Reillys 120 bucks for 5 gal you will need 5 gals for the drop box and differential those are not separate fills then the mitre box will hold the rest,I forgot how much the transmission will hold probably - or+ 2 gals. I add no additives but that is your call

good luck
