Hi coats105,

Welcome!

Here is the paddle that I installed on my bus. It is strong enough to handle the heavy bus doors we have.

I too am interested in some modification of my MC8 door

I have installed a lock -- the kind used on commercial buildings that works very well

I am interested in changing out the hinge and getting rid of the current hinge set up

Has anyone installed a piano hinge or other type of hinge on a MC8 and eliminated the bulky hinge components??

I screwed up and drilled the hole for the deadbolt a little to high. I drilled from the inside and the hole goes into one of the ribs instead of in between. plus there is not enough meat in the door jamb for the home style deadbolt tongue. Any ideas on fixing that screw up?

I just installed a new latch assembly on my 1980 Prevost. I used the right door set for an older Peterbilt, chrome handle inside with lever lock. Chrome handle outside with key lock. Latch closes around stud mounted just inside door frame. With this I eliminated the hand crank and the air lock. This gives me a tight and firm door closure. I would send pictures of this if i could figure out how to post them.
