I am looking to get a generator and found a HDD7000EDA diesel with 2 hours for $3200 OBO. They list for $6500. It looks to be in new shape. They are out of Boise, Idaho, anyone have any information/knowledge on them? Thanks

From the Parts PDF "Please consult your dealer before make the orders." Yeah ... Chinese, or worse ...
Too good to be true again. Damn. The reddit link really told the tale. I really want to go diesel but it seems out of my $ reach. I am in Edmonton also. I keep going back to getting new Honda EM5000S $2700 or EM6500S $3300, gas, the 5000 is a bit small.. Every time I am ready to pull the trigger I start looking for diesel. What do you think about Honda? Other gas models?
Watch Kijiji for an old Onan diesel.
You could look for a used Honda on craigslist or adhuntr. Although they use a different fuel that the coach burns, they are pretty trouble free and easy on fuel. Plus gas is pretty cheap these days compared to diesel, at least around here. Be realistic on how many hours you will actually use it. Plus they are pretty quiet compared to a diesel.
Have you checked the outfit out for generators I have been in their shop before they build nice generators with the Cat (Perkins) engine they just don't do all Chinese
The best part is it appears to be a 1 cylinder Kubota running at 3,600rpm. But-who knows how the alternator is built?
This generator http://www.powertechgenerators.com/pages/cd8000si (http://www.powertechgenerators.com/pages/cd8000si) is my all time favorite-if I needed an 8000 watt generator-this would be it. This would power two A/C's with power to spare. I had a truck driver friend that had one of these that had over 28,000 hours on it when he sold his big rig truck. The alternator originally had brushes, and he replaced it with the new head that is brushless. Had very little problems with it. Good Luck, TomC
