I was looking for LED headlight bulbs for my Honda Goldwing, when I wandered onto a site selling 5.75" LED headlights for Harleys. Yes, the price was outrageous, so I did some more searching and found ones that are combination LOW/HIGH beam LED's for about $210. for a pair. The work on something like 10 - 30 VDC so I am thinking about giving them a try as my lights are so dim I am almost afraid to drive at night. I don't think I need 4 LED lights glaring at opposing traffic, but since I don't want to re-wire maybe I will. I the standard wiring keeps all 4 on when on low and 2 on low and 2 on high when on high beam, but I am not sure.

There is an outfit called LMC Trucks (i think) that has 7" round 12v LED headlights...saw them on tv a month or so ago.
I bought a set of these for my Eagle.

Not inexpensive, But the output is awesome. Really wide voltage range. Super low amp draw.
Hello Steve this is not a bus question but it's something I new to know, I have a 1985 Goldwing Limited Edition , my problem is its fuel injection I know for sure the electric fuel pump is bad, cheapest one I found that might work is about 700.00 on the Goldwing site some are saying that this or that will work but no luck Thanks Richard got any ideas

I have researched LED headlights a lot. They are just now actually getting enough throw to be useful. Brightness isn't the issue, the distance they shine out in front of the vehicle has always been an issue. Swapping LED bulbs into a normal headlight reflector housing will likely cause a lot of light scatter and be a bit bright to oncoming drivers. A better approach is putting th led behind a projector housing.

I know this is not bus related but this may apply to generators etc. On the Goldwing Se fuel pump I think you can use several automotive fuel pumps as long as they are external,not in the tank mounted and for fuel injected vehicles and have hose attachments. I use a 80's Volvo 240 series fuel pump to test run fuel inj. vehicles and have yet to find something that it won't work on. This pump is only for fuel inj,will overpower a carburetor.
All of the Gillig buses at Disney have been changed to LED lights. The ones they bought were Digilite spelling may not be correct. They are not good! Light has a bad hot spot, to light up the road they are set so high that they blind anyone you are meeting. They are low beam only and cost about $225.00 each.
I put a set of HID lights on my MCI and they are better than the LED lights that Disney bought. Got mine on Ebay.

Unless you are into the latest the soonest, go with good cibie or hella headlamps with sylvania silver stars or equiv. Next up would be hid's. I don't think led's illumination patterns have advanced enough yet to be worth the investment. Commercial use interest is geared toward durability first and quality vision pattern second. No truck company wants to be gigged for bulbs out during dot inspections. Have you upgraded to halogen sealed beams yet, or are your bulbs original?
My headlights are 12 VDC sealed beams(in a 24VDC bus), not halogens. I don't exactly know how they are wired, as they were apparently 12V when I bought the bus. I assumed they were 24V so when one headlight blew, I bought one from Luke, only to discover that the one I pulled was 12V.
I am thinking of replacing one headlight on each side with LEDs. That way I have a total of 4 lows and 4 highs, and would still be able to see decently should one blow.

From what i understand the led headlights do not get hot enough to melt ice so they sell heated models for up north.
Yet another reason to head south for the winter.

I agree. Beam control is more important than total output. Projector lights, even with incandescent lamps, are better at putting the light where it's needed and eliminating glare. Also, using relays to provide full power without running through the headlight switch will help.

For running 12 volt headlamps on your GM, you need the factory resister module. It mounts at front ceiling behind driver side headlamps of compartment below driver. Plug and play. Maybe someone has one of these modules.My p8m4905 had the option.(I'm using it on my coach)

I have 12VDC headlights now, I just haven't traced everything out. The electrical diagrams show 24VDC, but obviously this was changed. I will have to trace it all out--I have a little time before inspection is due at end of November. I think I will go with a set of the LED's but leave a set of the current bulbs as a backup--kind of like belt and suspenders.
