It appears that my MC-5C has blown a diaphragm in one of the DD3 chambers.
After inspection, the cans are nearing the end of their useful life.
Besides Luke, has anybody recently got new/rebuilt DD3s from another vendor?
TIA,
RJ

Brake Systems in Portland rebuilds them.

I was just adding a link direct to the store. When I bought mine he told me that he had the castings redone over the ocean, and all the interior parts and clamps likewise. They don`t have left and right hand castings as original, but you can rotate the assembly to get the drain hole at the bottom. I was very impressed with them when I got them. I went with new so that I didn`t have to return cores across the border, and my old castings were very corroded. Worked perfectly, though, oddly enough.

seems dd3s were made for buses so sources are limited, but if you look at mcicoach.com they give you the bendix and gm part numbers that you may research for availability.
The Eagle people probably caused the shortage ;D they have tossed so many in the junk over the years and went to springs you couldn't count them all

Thanks, all, for your suggestions.
After spending all morning on the phone yesterday, was able to snag a couple of new DD3 chambers from REI at $525 each.
MCI had new ones for $1110, or rebuilts for $936.
Decided to go with REI's since I don't think the ones I'll be changing out will be accepted as cores, due to corrosion issues.
Absolutely have to move coach today, as the property where the barn is located that I store the bus at has been sold, and escrow closes on Friday. So have called Coach-Net to move it to Terminal Air Brake, who will install the new DD3s, plus some other undercarriage work for me.
What the hey, it's only money. . .
;)
I did all new hoses while I was at it. Which broke a fitting off the inversion valve so I did a new inversion valve too. These little jobs seem to multiply... BTW if your chamber is stuck in park and you can't release it, you can undo the two mounting nuts on the studs and there is enough room for it to move forward enough to release the brakes.

RJ, Hope you save your old ones anyways. I'm sure someone would want them for parts. I would like them if you were closer.
I just bought one for my 9 for $40 at a local parts place. It was a nasty hole in the wall...but the chamber was brand new. Can't complain.
