Title: Generator wiring question
Post by: DandM on October 03, 2015, 05:25:05 PM
Getting things ready to start the 8v92ta in my Scenicrusier. Almost all the wiring has been removed from the bus during the floor lowering adventure. I tried to save it and move it carefully, but, it just didn't work out. Also found a lot of bare spots in numerous wires. Even main power feed to front panel had a large crack  in the insulation.
Anyway, still have the large feed cable from the generator to the starter still attached, but no others. Should I remove this cable at both ends? Will it cause any damage to the generator without any regulator connected.
Thanks,
Mike

Not if engine is off. Batteries should be disconnected in case you inadvertently  touch a hot wire to ground.
