Is there something better than the OEM bay door seals? Better material? Better profile?
I am about to install new seals.

Ed Gallant makes stainless steel hinges that will last forever, has lots of happy GM, MCI and Eagle owners because of them. edannbus@aol.com is his contact email.
Be sure to clean the tracks thoroughly. Reports are that a wire brush used to clean .22 rifle barrels works wonders.
If sticking to OEM rubber, use a non-petroleum-based lubricant to ease installation. Lots of folk use dishwashing liquid, spraying with water to keep slick. Others have reported excellent results with KY Jelly. :o
Oh, if you also "upgrade" to gas struts to hold open the bay doors, use two (one on each side), especially with the rubber hinge. That way the force is evenly distributed along the hinge material. Not an issue if you use the stainless hinges.
FWIW & HTH. . .
;)
Good rubber hinges last a long time just be careful what you buy Jefferson Bus Parts in OKC has the best rubber hinge material IMO I use talcum for installing
I have new rubber hinges, I was interested about the seals that seal the door to the shell.
Mine were hard as a rock and I have removed all of them.

i have seen the vertical edges sealed with a commercial winter grade overhead door base rubber seal/gasket used...not sure if it will in your application.
that's all i got ;D
The door seals are very similar to boat hatch cover seals, so you could look around for a marine supply store or source.
Good luck

I got mine from Luke. olebusman
