I recently converted my MCI 9 wipers to and electric design. The new wiper kit came with a washer water pump that installs in the original washer tank.
The problem is the new pump does not have the required capacity to squirt water up to the windshield? When it pumps water comes out of the spray nozzles about an inch?
Have any of you had this same issue and what did you do to resolve it?
I was thinking about using a Sure Flo or one of the other water pumps that we use for our water systems? Any thoughts?
Thanks, Doug
Doug, my D uses 2 pumps about a 3in x 1in square in size I believe I have extras if I can find them ;D

I replaced my old Sprague air pump that never worked well and used to dribble water out of the push valve onto my leg. I use instead two ACI 172650 electric washer pumps, less than $20 each from Pep Boys, one of which feeds the existing wiper arm nozzles, and the other feeds some new nozzles above the windshield. This way I have eight jets of water sluicing down the glass - no bugs can survive that! Doing it this way means that if one pump fails, I will still can wash the entire windshield with the other pump. Each pump draws just under 4 amps and has its own 5 amp fuse. I used 3/16" clear tubing instead of the original 1/8" rubber tubing, and used the adjustable twin-nozzle squirters for Blue Bird school buses. It works really well, and I adapted the original Sprague air valve push knob to fit on the new push-to-make switch so it even looks original.
