Title: quick Deutz generator question...
Post by: bevans6 on September 02, 2015, 11:31:54 AM
Hopefully y'all experts can give me a quick answer on this...  Then back to helping people with bus issues...

I have a 3,000 hour Deutz two cylinder diesel with a Leroy Somer 15.5KVA 1800 rpm single phase 120/240 volt alternator that I was given for free, so I want to get it started and see what's what.  It used to be a back up generator in a grocery store, so probably kind of old but the hours are from new and it actually looks pretty good.  If I can get it running it will be a backup generator for my house and shop.

What I don't know is how to stop it once I start it.  There is no obvious solenoid on the governor, just the speed lever and a little button that you can push in and pull out.  Does anyone know how to stop one of these things?  Link to a manual of some sort?

Thanks, Brian

I would guess the little push pull thingy would be the fuel shutoff, like some of the old tractors
