Title: Difference between Bendix E-6 and E-8P Brake Treadle Valve?
Post by: Darkspeed on August 28, 2015, 06:26:25 PM
Im starting from scratch on brakes and I want to get the rears sorted.

I upgraded to 3030 spring brakes on the rear and I am going to use an R-7 modulating spring brake valve and a R-8 service brake relay valve in the rear.

I have a Bendix E-8P Brake Valve With Treadle Assembly that I am planning on using.
I know the E-10P has a less touchy feel because it has a steel spring rather than rubber disc in the E-8P.
I cant figure out the difference between the Bendix E-6 and E-8P. Just the Aux supply port on the E-8P?

The E-8 has parallel ports with the upper metal spring same as the E-10 instead of the rubber spring like the E-6 ? are you building a dual air system on the 4106

Yes a dual air with spring brake modulation for my 4106. I wanted as good as possible without going ABS.

I was referring to the internal travel spring > http://www.centralstatesbus.com/2010Manuals/AARE/TreadleValve.pdf (http://www.centralstatesbus.com/2010Manuals/AARE/TreadleValve.pdf)

Im new to this so its a steep learning curve.

Is the E-6 was a single air system?

One thing is the E6 is a reman and the E8 is a new valve.
