Anyone know what the HP/KW load limit is on the Allison V730 PTO (accessory shaft) ?
Does it turn 1:1 with the engine?
Thank you!
I cannot find my Flx book but the ratio is different than a old GM,Flx ran 2 AC compressors and the alternator for the AC off the PTO I believe it was a 8-1/2 drive pulley
Thanks luvrbus, I also have a double V pulley on the drivers side by the fan that is not occupied, not sure what it was used for or what the ratio is.
I would like to run a Sanden 508 AC compressor, and possibly a military 28VDC 400A Niehoff alternator.
? you have a Torus drive fan those are 1:1 off the Torus they ran a 5 cylinder ac compressor off those
This pulley comes out of the block below the blower.
I dont know what a torus drive looks like? Big doughnut? mine is shaped like a 8" cylinder that tapers into the fan hub.
Yours uses oil from the engine to furnish oil for a a clutch pack inside the housing that is a fan clutch you might as well ditch that piece of junk now and get over with they are nothing but problems the clutch pack don't hold up engaging and dis engaging a bad design
Ok the silver one is what I have on my 6v92, the other is what I have on my 6v71 that I took out of the bus.
Are you saying the 6v71 setup is better? Should I transplant it to the 6v92?
I don't like either but my choice would be the torus between the 2

Is there a better solution? If so what would you suggest? I would like to get it sorted before I install the engine.
With what I have now I can not turn the fan by hand. It does seem to cool properly when running though.
Thank you!

The v730 manual rates the pto at 50 hp continuous.
